What many might not know about Bad Bunny is that besides his career in rap music, he is also a professional wrestler. He had appeared in WWE multiple times in the past. Recently, wrestler Damien Priest gave an invitation to Bunny to join him on WWE during an interview with TMZ Sports.
The interviewer asked him to share his thoughts about Bad Bunny’s new residency and whether he would attend. Damien Priest responded that he would go during the upcoming weekend. When asked when he would like to see the rapper back in the ring, Priest said:
“Whenever he’s ready, you know. I mean, that’s up to him. You know, as far as like when he’s ready physically and mentally, you know, it’s easy for me to say next week but he has to be actually ready and I know the way he is, he would want to do it properly and trained properly. So, whenever he’s done, you know, he’s always welcome.”
When asked if he would like to give any advice to Bad Bunny, he said he had a lot to do with Bunny’s training in the previous matches. However, Priest said he would be happy to help Bunny whenever he is ready. He looked forward to having a good time at the rapper’s residency.
Meanwhile, Damien Priest said he hadn’t spoken to Seth Rollins after his injury because they usually gave each other space during such times, knowing how overwhelming it could be. He added that it’s part of the job, but he believed Seth would recover and return. Reflecting on his upcoming plans, Priest stated:
“Summer slam is next and then from there, I am looking for gold. Damien Priest wants some gold.”
Bad Bunny on the intense training for WrestleMania
In 2021, Bad Bunny was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Fallon complimented his WrestleMania game. When asked if he liked wrestling, the rapper said:
“I've always been, since I was a kid, a wrestling fan. And that was a dream come true. I can't believe it yet, you know?”
He mentioned that he had trained a lot for three months, with physical workouts. Bunny said he had to work on his body and how he would perform in the ring. As Fallon discussed the difficulty of the sport in general, Bunny said:
“I receive a kick in my chest. It still hurt, you know?”
Bad Bunny shared that after WrestleMania, he spent almost a month watching the fight every night before going to bed, and sometimes it even made him cry.
Talking about performing in Puerto Rico, he said it was his first concert there in two years, making it special. While all his shows were exciting and fun, the ones in Puerto Rico felt different because it was his home, so he gave everything on stage and was fully prepared.
In an interview with Rolling Stone in January this year, Bad Bunny admitted that sometimes he thought about quitting everything else to focus on wrestling full-time. He felt like he only appeared occasionally as a celebrity in wrestling but wanted to fully commit and even play the villain, which he always liked more than the heroes.
