Is Jay-Z dropping a new album? Cash Cobain clears the air

As per Cash Cobain, Jay-Z, or Shawn Corey Carter is not dropping a new album. Cobain, in a tweet shared on September 9, revealed that he got a call from the artist and that he will not be dropping an album.

"Dam just got off the phone with Hov lol thank y'all. When I was on the phone with Hov, he said that he is absolutely not dropping an album. That messed me up tho."

This comes after Cobain, during an interview with Billboard Unfiltered Live on September 3, said that he heard that the artist would be dropping new music.

"The king of New York is Jay-Z. It's Jay-Z. Multi-platinum albums (and) president of Def Jam. He's like the richest rapper, right? What didn't he do? I heard Jay-Z is about to drop some s*** that's gonna shake the world. That's what I heard."

Producer and former Roc-A-Fella Records signee Memphis Bleek, while speaking to Drink Champs, also previously alleged that Carter was up to something.

"I just was with him in Vegas. He just came out on the show, and my n****, they went stupid. I said, 'Listen, I know you workin. Save me a verse."

As per Memphis, Carter said, "All right, I got you."


What was Jay-Z's last musical project?

Jay-Z's most recent musical project was Everything Is Love, which was released in 2018. The project was a joint album with Beyoncé. When it comes to solo music projects, 4:44 is his latest solo studio album, which was released in 2017.

4:44's standard edition featured 10 tracks, while the bonus edition featured 12 tracks. It was released under Roc Nation and Universal Music Group. 4:44 was the artist's 13th studio album and one of his most personal.

The themes of the album included infidelity and marital struggles with Beyoncé. Many listeners saw the album as a response to Beyoncé's Lemonade. It also highlighted fatherhood, legacy, generational wealth, social issues such as racism, and economic empowerment in Black communities.

His joint album with Beyoncé, titled Everything is Love, was released under Parkwood Entertainment and Roc Nation. The album was a surprise drop when Carter and Beyoncé were both on their joint On the Run II tour. Themes for this album included love, reconciliation, and partnership, and gave listeners a look into the power couple's relationship.

Carter is yet to respond to Cash Cobain or the new album claims publicly.
