In a long interview for Dazed magazine's Summer 2025 issue, BLACKPINK's Rosé spoke about everything from how hard it is to become a celebrity to how important it is to be creative. "It'll cause too much drama" has sparked a conversation on how hard it is to tell the difference between an artist's private life and their public image.

In late April 2025, Rosé (real name Park Chae-young) was getting set to embark on a world tour with BLACKPINK after each member had gone solo.

Shaad D'Souza, a journalist, led the event, which was meant to display Rosé's personality outside of the stage by questioning her about her thoughtful solo debut Rosie and other parts of her creative growth. Rosé was careful with her comments the whole time since she knew that "words are forever" and chose to be diplomatic instead of upfront about personal and strategic issues.

D'Souza once asked Rosé who her favorite members of One Direction were. This question comes from the well-known fact that many music stars were admirers of their predecessors when they were kids. Rosé didn't name anybody right away; instead, she thought about it for a bit before answering:

“I do, but I know this is going to make headlines so I want to be careful. It’ll cause too much drama.”

People in the public spotlight in the extremely active K-pop or Western pop cultures have to deal with fan fights. Her humorous admission shows that she likes the British boy band and that things may become worse.

Top singers are very careful about how they present themselves to the public. For example, Rosé humorously avoids the question of her "favorite One Direction member." Her notoriety, which is tempered by her disdain for "too much drama," shows her actual dedication and her ability to handle the demands of fans from other cultures.

As BLACKPINK starts a new chapter, moments like these remind supporters that Rosé is still a wise custodian of her tale and a passionate music lover with great vocals and a fascinating stage presence.
