Baekhyun shares advice he received from his groupmates before his tour.
EXO's Baekhyun is on his 2025 Reverie World Tour, and while backstage talked about life on tour, his relationships with fellow group idols, iconic songs, and more with PEOPLE magazine.
In the interview, over everything else, the INB100 record label founder talks about the sage advice and admiration EXO members Xiumin and Chen shared with him.
The duo sent him a short but sweet parting message, “Stay healthy,” he further added, "All three of us are not really the type to have warm words for each other. Still, just that in itself meant a lot.”
While talking about the boys, whom he considers his support system, he expressed,
“As time goes by, it's hard to monitor everyone's different music and what they're doing, but I try not to lose contact with that because my members do that for me, so I want to be there for them as well.”

The "Bambi" singer also talked about his health concerns and how he takes the time to make sure he doesn't get sick. From drinking warm beverages, sleeping well, to taking vitamins and always keeping a jacket nearby, the 33-year-old told the interviewer,
“I’m really concerned about getting a cold, because that impacts my condition onstage. It’s better to be warmer than colder.”
The tour that kicked off in Seoul and will be going through cities like Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Sydney, Amsterdam, Tokyo, and more, is a celebration of his fifth solo mini album, “The Essence of Reverie," and also marks his first solo world tour.
“ Because this is my first solo world tour, everything really feels new. Every city feels new,” he said backstage at his New Jersey concert. “It all feels like a first time, and I just really want everyone who comes to see me to just feel really happy after the show.”
He further continued, “I’ve been visiting a lot of cities where the fans haven’t really been able to see me live, and they’ve only been able to see me online for such a long time. So I want to be able to meet those fans, and have them reminisce about their journey as a fan — and kind of fall in love with me all over again.”
Adding on to this, Baekhyun, who debuted in 2012 with the SM Entertainment group, reflected on his more than a decade of experience in the industry as well as being part of a group that has been a global sensation and helped build the Hallyu wave in the West.
“If you try your best, people will always realize that. I want to not try to make up a fake version of myself to present to my fans. I’m someone who wants to be loved just the way I am.”
The "Cry for love" singer shared, “At the end of the day, it's important to stay true to who you are, and then the people that love that will stay with you along the way.”
The Kpop idol has always focused on the quality of his work and performance, apologising to fans if he could not give them what they were expecting. For example, even after a 2-hour concert, Baekhyun cared more about what his fans wanted than anything else, as when he asked the crowd for their favorite songs, which they stated was “Cry for Me” and “Love Again”, he apologised for them not being part of the setlist and was surprised at learning of their popularity.
“Coming to areas I haven’t been able to have shows at, I’m realizing fans seeing me live for the first time would actually miss my old discography. If the fans want ‘Cry for Love,’ I can always sing it impromptu," he says.
Baekhyun, who also boasts a few acting credits, such as playing the 10th Prince Wang Eun in the Kdrama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, like many other Kpop idols, at the end of the day believes that his first true love would always be music. Being a singer would always be at the forefront, and he truly can't imagine it any other way.
“When I think, ‘What else would I do if it were not for this?’ There’s nothing that comes to mind,” says Baekhyun.
