Justin Timberlake’s performance at Lytham Festival took an unexpected turn after a technical malfunction triggered a moment of visible frustration from the pop star.

While performing his early 2000s hit “Cry Me a River,” sound issues interrupted Justin Timberlake’s set, prompting two crew members to approach him mid-song. In fan-captured footage that quickly made its way around TikTok, the singer appears visibly upset, raising his voice and gesturing toward the crew as the audio cuts out.

Despite the glitch, the audience stepped in, continuing the lyrics without missing a beat. Once the sound was restored, Justin Timberlake resumed the show with his 2024 track “No Angels,” seemingly without further incident.

The pop star has not publicly addressed the viral outburst, but the video has reignited discussion around his recent controversies.

Internet reacts as Justin Timberlake gets visibly heated with crew over sound issues

Once footage of Justin Timberlake appearing to scold a crew member hit social media, users quickly weighed in with a mix of reactions. Some were shocked, others were sympathetic.

“What musician wouldn't want the sound right? That's not even close to a crash out,” @JtsBae69 said.
“He’s such a douche,” @BenGjoni wrote.
“Justin is such a has-been tool, who speaks to the people who help put his show together like that? Anytime anyone is talking about him its always for anything but his music,” @justintmbrpussy commented.
“I mean that Audio has to be right! It’s what he does!” @ChetGeePeeT tweeted.
“He has definitely lost his swagger,” @Sdp2014Park added.
“Having a bad sound during performance is discouraging as it makes the artist look like a wack and upcoming…” @erickson_egbon said.

“You can’t put a price on that”: Justin Timberlake gets sentimental about fatherhood

Justin Timberlake crashing out at stage crew comes just weeks after he shared a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute to his two sons on Instagram.

In the June 15 post, Timberlake reflected on the joys and challenges of fatherhood.

“There’s no bigger reward or responsibility that I have ever felt in my life above being a father. To teach and to learn at the same time… I feel beyond blessed.”

He included several photos with his children — Silas, 10, and Phineas, 4 — whom he shares with actress Jessica Biel.

“I see my two dads, my grandfathers, my uncles more and more clearly every year that I get to experience this life with them. And I see myself more and more clearly in every moment I have with my sons, watching who they continue to become.”

He went on:

“You can’t put a price tag on that type of generational wealth!”

Timberlake ended his note with a shout-out to dads everywhere:

“Here’s to all the Dads out there! Cheers! Happy Father’s Day!”
