Karol G set to headline YouTube's inaugural NFL Live Halftime Show

Prominent Colombian singer, Carolina Giraldo Navarro, widely known by her stage name Karol G, is set to headline YouTube's inaugural NFL Live Halftime show.

As announced by the NFL (National Football League) and YouTube on August 14, 2025, the 34-year-old reggaeton sensation, Karol G, will perform during YouTube's first NFL live broadcast, which will take place at Corinthians Arena, also called the Neo Química Arena in São Paulo, Brazil.

According to Billiboard, the first game of the 2025 São Paulo NFL will be a match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. The match is set for September 5, 2025. Karol, who gained mainstream fame in 2017 after collaborating with Puerto Rican singer and rapper Bad Bunny on the song, Aahora Me Llama, became a well-established singer and a successful artist in Latin music.

As per Billboard, the Colombian music sensation, Karol G, who is one of the most influential and key figures in urban pop music and reggaeton, in a press release, said:

"I’m so excited to be part of YouTube’s first-ever NFL live broadcast, it’s truly an honor and a moment I’m so proud to be part of. I’ve watched many NFL halftime shows over the years and now having this opportunity to bring my music to this global stage means the world to me. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in São Paulo and fans all around the world."

It is not only the Colombian reggaeton sensation, Karol, who will be taking the stage at the 2025 São Paulo NFL, but Brazilian singer-songwriter Ana Castela will also be performing Brazil's national anthem, Hino Nacional Brasileiro. While Castela will sing the Brazilian national anthem, Kamasi Washington, an American saxophonist and composer, will perform the U.S. national anthem.

However, Angela Courtin, YouTube's VP of Sports and Entertainment Marketing, considers the 2025 São Paulo NFL live broadcast to be a significant moment in their collaboration with the National Football League. Courtin said:

"This broadcast is a landmark moment in our partnership with the NFL, where the worlds of football, music and creators will powerfully collide."

She added:

"From the real-life manifestation of our creator community in São Paulo to a global icon like Karol G taking the stage at halftime, this partnership with the NFL is a testament to our shared vision. It’s about more than just a game; it’s a statement that the future of live sports and entertainment is global and connected."
