Kevin James has a knack for making his presence felt at public events, ever since his legendary “Drivers start you engines” call at the NASCAR Daytona race in 2007. In his latest crowd-pleasing turn, James recently made a surprise appearance at the Buckeye Country Superfest in Ohio on June 21, where he joined Jelly Roll on stage.

The singer brought Kevin James out in front of a packed crowd to perform his single “Need A Favor”. The two were even dressed alike, wearing all black outfits. The only real differentiating factor between him and Jelly Roll was that the emerging superstar wore heavy platinum chains around his neck and was heavily tattooed. Eventually the singer asked,

"Kevin, we’re in the biggest house in Ohio. Can we sing a song together?”

before giving the crowd an electric performance alongside Kevin James. For his part, James, despite pushing 60 years old added a frenetic energy to the proceedings that had people raving about his special guest appearance at the festivities.

Kevin James - The people’s champ

Kevin James is no stranger to a little bit of fan service. In a 2024 interview on The Tonight Show, James even went into detail about the viral King Of Queens meme that exploded online, years after his first major hit show came to an end, and how the moment came to be. Ultimately the show lasted from 1998-2007.

“When you first get a sitcom, you just listen to anybody. You’re just so happy to be there. The photographer, he was just telling me to do goofy things”

The universally adored comedic icon continued,

“He was like, ‘Smile. Now like you’re sexy, now like you’re shy, but now you’re kind of …' and I got into this position where I’m like, ‘What the hell am I doing?’ 25 years later, the thing pops up.”

Kevin even went on to recreate the picture with host Jimmy Fallon before his time on the show was up.

Currently, Kevin James seems to have a full plate and the versatile star is keeping busier than ever. He is a part of two films that will be releasing later this year, Guns Up and Playdate. Beyond his projects in the world of film, the comedian is also currently amidst his Owls Don’t Walk American stand-up tour, which picks back up after a short break towards the end of September. As some shows are being re-scheduled, no firm date has yet been confrimed.
