BTS' Jungkook’s GOLDEN was included in Met Gala worthy albums for 2025

Meanwhile, the BTS idol's leading album GOLDEN recently grabbed news. Jk's debut solo album gained recognition after being named one of the 2025 Met Gala-worthy albums on Apple Music. BTS' Jungkook's GOLDEN was apparently the only Asian album to make the list, with Coco Jones' Why Not More?, Janet Jackson's Control, and others.

BTS' Jungkook's maiden standalone record, GOLDEN, is the only album by an Asian artist in Spotify record to have numerous songs with over 800 million streams. Songs with over 800 streams are:

  • SEVEN (feat Latto) (Explicit Ver.) - 2.319 billion
  • Standing Next To You - 1.178 billion
  • 3D (feat Jack Harlow) - 865 million

Jungkook’s album achieved a significant milestone in the music industry by surpassing Michael Jackson's album Thriller in the ranking of most-streamed albums on Spotify. The GOLDEN album is currently at #142, while MJ's Thriller has the #143 position. The BTS idol released his inaugural independent album, GOLDEN, in 2023, whereas MJ's classic record, Thriller, launched in November 1982.

Currently, BTS’ Jungkook is serving in military and he will be discharged in June this year. Other members, namely V, Namjoon, Jimin, and SUGA, are also ready for military discharge in June this year after finishing their army duties.
