Lil Nas X has reportedly been placed under treatment after he was arrested for battery of a police officer.
Per Variety, the singer, legally known as Montero Hill, faces charges of allegedly attacking police officers and resisting arrest. The claims stem from an August 21 incident in Los Angeles, when he was arrested for wandering nearly naked.
Drew Findling, an attorney for the singer, spoke to reporters outside the courthouse in Los Angeles on Monday about Lil Nas X's current status:
“Obviously, you heard the treatment word,” he said, as seen in a video recorded by Rolling Stone’s Nancy Dillon.“We’re doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly for his well-being. He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. We’re just addressing those issues. It’s really as simple as that. He’s had a great life, he’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s gonna get over.”
Everything we know about Lil Nas X's ongoing legal drama:
As of this writing, it is unclear what treatment Lil Nas X is undergoing. Several outlets reported at the time of his arrest that he was taken to a hospital based on a suspicion of a possible drug overdose, though he was eventually let go. He was then cuffed and detained.
CBS News has reported that Montero Hill pleaded not guilty to:
"three felony counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony count of resisting arrest."
Given his lack of prior convictions and that he was cleared of being a flight risk, the singer's bail was reduced to $75,000 from $300,000. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Shellie Samuels reportedly tweaked the conditions of Lil Nas X's release to accommodate his ongoing treatment, Rolling Stone has reported:
“Defendant is allowed to remain out of state as long as he remains in treatment. If Hill’s “treatment changes, and he becomes outpatient, then we’ll talk,” she said.
Hill is expected to show up in court on November 18, 2025. He acknowledged his behavior and arrest in a post on social media as he assured his fans he was safe:
“Your girl is gonna be OK, y’all,” Hill said in an Instagram Story post. “OK? She’s gonna be all right. Sh*t.” He continued, “That was f*cking terrifying. That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days. But your girl is gonna be all right.”
