Paul Dempsey has announced his second album, Shotgun Karaoke Vol. II, more than a decade after the release of the first volume in 2013. Fans of cover songs who appreciated Dempsey’s stripped-down renditions, featuring only guitar, can look forward to the forthcoming release. Shotgun Karaoke Vol. II is scheduled to be released on October 24 this year.
The Something for Kate frontman has also announced a national tour to celebrate his upcoming album. Dempsey shared the information about the tour along with the announcement of his album on August 4 via an Instagram post.
Paul Dempsey's fans can preorder the album now. However, those interested in listening to him live on his Australian tour can book tickets from August 8. Tickets will be available on his official website. However, Dempsey is offering a pre-sale on Thursday exclusively to his mailing list subscribers and Patreon members.

In the forthcoming album, cover music lovers can hear Dempsey's Karaoke take on songs spanning decades across genres. The official website of Dempsey explains how he picked the songs for his album.
“I don’t really care if they work with my style. I choose them because I genuinely love the song and think it would be fun to sing.” Dempsey explains the process.
Dempsey's released the first track of Vol. II, which is Cher’s If I Could Turn Back Time. Other known scores include:
- Tanita Tikaram’s Twist In My Sobriety
- Don Henley’s Boys Of Summer
- R.E.M.’s Losing My Religion

To celebrate Shotgun Karaoke Vol. II, Paul Dempsey is returning with five shows across Australia. He shared the tour details in his Instagram post. He also gave a glimpse in the caption of what fans can expect from this tour.
"The concept remains as simple as ever, beloved songs performed live with nothing but Paul and his acoustic guitar, in the spirit of actual karaoke. He’ll be playing a broad selection of covers beyond the tracks on both Vol I and Vol II. He’ll draw on scores of covers done over the years," the post reads.
