K-pop group SEVENTEEN's agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, has issued a statement after the recent fireworks accident at the “NEW_” world tour concert in Incheon. The company apologized for the incident, which was apparently caused by defective fireworks.
The statement, which was issued on 13th September, explains the situation.
"Some of the special effect flames used in the last section of the 'SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW ] IN INCHEON' performance held on September 13 (Sat) unexpectedly fell in the direction of the audience. As for the production, the professional company set the safe distance and direction before the performance and carried out repeated inspections, but it was understood that the situation occurred due to some product defects."

It further stated, "As a result, the two spectators who were confirmed to be damaged at the scene were immediately treated at the temporary clinic in the concert hall and went home. We will actively support future treatment procedures for the quick recovery of those who have been affected. In order to determine whether there is any additional damage and the specific situation, we will send a separate information message to the audience on the day of the performance."
The statement concluded with an apology,
"Once again, we sincerely apologize for the concern and inconvenience caused by this incident, and we will continue to do our best to create a safer performance environment by putting the safety of the audience first."
