Rapper Pusha T from the hip-hop duo Clipse has reacted to Drake suing UMG over Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, Not Like Us. In a new interview for GQ magazine on June 2, Pusha spoke about his new album, Let God Sort Em Out, slated for release on July 11, 2025. The singer spoke about all things music, including their take on Drake suing UMG.
Pusha said,
“I don't rate him no more. The suing thing is bigger than some rap sh*t.”
He added,
“Damn, it's like it just cheapens the art of it once we gotta have real questions about suing and litigation. Like, what? For this?”
The comments follow Drake's 2024 lawsuit against UMG and iHeartRadio, reportedly for defamation. For those unversed, Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us was born out of the public feud between him and Drake, with the former calling the latter a "pedophile."
Pusha T talks about Drake suing UMG over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and much more!
Kendrick Lamar and Drake's ongoing public feud has left the internet divided and has also drawn opinions from other artists, including Pusha T. The rapper has elaborated on his stance and told GQ magazine,
“If [Drake’s] adamant to have a lawsuit, it's only because he knows all the things that they did to suppress everything that was happening around ‘Adidon’ and the verses and the records and things that were happening back then.”
Before Lamar's diss track, Pusha had released one, The Story of Adidon, in 2018. The rapper has previously spoken about Drake's decision to sue UMG over Kendrick Lamar's track. In a Saint Sessions discussion on December 7, 2024, the rapper publicly revealed his support for Lamar and believed that Lamar had "1000%" won the rap beef. He explained,
"The truth really hurts, and the truth cuts deep. And I think what Kendrick was doing was talking to his soul. I believe that, and I believe that would cause you to tap out. That'll cause you to sue. That'll cause you to do a lot of things."
Pusha T is reflecting on his decision not to speak in favor of Drake's lawsuits towards Not Like Us. The rapper has experienced a fallout with the Canadian rapper and doesn't quite agree with the lawsuit. He has previously voiced his support for Kendrick Lamar.
In other news, Pusha T and Malice are set to release their much-anticipated album. Interestingly, the album will also feature Kendrick Lamar, while the details have been kept under wraps.
