Aespa has officially announced their comeback, and fans are overjoyed.
K-pop group Aespa just announced a surprise comeback, and fans can't hold back their joy. The quartet announced that they will be releasing their 6th mini album, Rich Man, on September 5.
The group is making headlines for the controversial, hot-topic title of their album. Along with the teasers and concept photos, SM, the K-pop group's entertainment agency, also released the tagline,
"I am enough as I am. I am a Rich Man."
The highly anticipated comeback was first teased by the girls as they revealed that they would be releasing new music in September.
The reveal came with a short video clip featuring an animated red guitar with lightning-like effects, hinting at a rockstar concept for the new mini album and maybe straying away from the group's AI concept roots.
Fans react to Aespa's comeback
"MY" (the group's fandom) cannot wait for the group's new unexpected comeback, as they took to social media to express their excitement.
One My expressed, "For all haters, please get away from here. Don't worry our aespa are still and always famous and keep making a masterpiece"
A Karina fan stated, "Comeback of the year is coming, can’t wait to see what Karina serves for this"
While another stated, "the biggest and most anticipated comeback of the decade is coming"
And one user couldn't contain their excitement, "OH MY GOD QUEENS OF KPOP ARE COMIGN WITH AOTY OMGSKSJEUEO"
Some fans also made a possible connection with Cher's iconic "I am a rich man" monologue during an interview. In 1996, the legendary singer did an interview where she compared a "man" to a dessert, and now he is not a necessity to have. She furthered her claim with a now-viral statement,
“My mom said to me, ‘You know, sweetheart, one day you should settle down and marry a rich man.’ And I said, ‘Mom, I am a rich man.’”
Aespa at KCON LA
Aespa just wrapped up their KCON 2025 in LA performance earlier this week. However, though their performance was loved by the fans, they also received backlash for an entirely different reason. The girls performed "Supernova,” “Whiplash,” “Dirty Work,” and even popular b-side “Flights, Not Feelings.”
However, after the performance, they had to take the stage again at the end to thank the fans. During that time, fans noticed that Karina was missing. Her absence sparked annoyance from fans; however, later she posted and stated that she had to immediately fly back for a different schedule. This led to fans shifting the blame to their company for overbooking the girls and mismanaging them.
