Colombian singer Maluma is currently on his +Pretty +Dirty world tour. A video of him going viral shows him interrupting his show midway to call out a mother for bringing her baby to a loud concert without ear protection.

Upon spotting a mother with a little baby, Maluma asked her in Spanish how old the baby was. He went on to ask if "it’s a good idea" to bring a baby to a concert where music is so loud. He also pointed out the absence of ear protection.

"That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here. Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility," Maluma said.

When the video of the singer made rounds on the internet, many netizens weighed in and shared their thoughts on this.

"Ok this is extremely real and responsible of him to do but crazy because he embarrassed that parent on another level😭," a user wrote.

Internet seems divided over Maluma's action

While many praised the singer's actions, others argued that the audience member did not deserve to be criticized publicly.

"Singers or artists stoping the show to humiliate or trying to teach the audience something is always wrong. Like their moral values are greater than the audience. They paid, you do your performance and shut up about the audience," a netizen wrote.
"Totally innapropriate to have a baby without protection but totally inappropriate to single her out like that too. I hate preachy performers," another netizen added.
"Imagine receiving parenting advice from Maluma in front of thousands of people if I was her I'd never show my face anywhere ever again," a user expressed.

The singer also lashed out at the mother for swinging the baby as if the baby were "a toy," adding that the baby didn't "want to be there." He added that he would never bring his child to a concert. Many appreciated the singer's move and criticized the mother.

"She might be his biggest fan, but yeah, nothing screams “true support” like putting a kid in danger glad he called it out, maybe next time they’ll try common sense as the fan merch 🙃," a user wrote.
"He's a daddy now so I know he's feeling this hard. Good job pa. kids are VERY sensitive to EVERYTHING , sound, touch, light... PROTECT THEM," another netizen reacted.
"I LOVE this… why tf is your baby at a loud concert packed with screaming adults for hours being treated like an accessory. there’s a time and place," an internet user commented.

The Colombian singer welcomed his baby, whom he shares with his girlfriend, Susana Gómez, in March 2024.
