"Respectfully ,not so good looking honestly": Fan reacts as Soyeon of (G)I-DLE debuts blonde pixie cut

(G)I-DLE's Soyeon debuts a new look and people are not a fan.

K-Pop girl group (G)I-DLE's Soyeon just revealed a new look. The rapper and music producer was sporting a bleach blonde pixie cut with matching bleached eyebrows at JTBC Studios in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, for the recording of the variety show 'Knowing Bros.'

This is not the first time she has been spotted with short hair. Soyeon has previously cut her hair into a blonde bob, a black bob and even a black short perm. But her hair has never been this short, and fans are shocked, as she is known for experimenting with her style and trying something new with every comeback.

Fans had mixed reactions to her new haircut, while some loved the new look and thought she looked quite edgy, others didn't love the look on her.

One fan expressed, "She looks like a main character in a K-drama and an action movie!!"

While another commented, "Not my style"

Another sadly said, "i wanted her to grow them out so bad"

"the way she always trying to do something different and breakthrough but ended up goofy," one user expressed their dislike.

The group is set to have a comeback on May 19 at 6 PM KST with their eighth mini album 'We Are.' Not only that, the group went through a major change or rebrand of sorts. Previously known as (G)I-DLE, the 5 member girl group dropped the G and now are known as I-dle. For their 7th anniversary, I-dle, who debuted in 2018, changed their name due to their leader Soyeon, who came to this while working on her second digital single, “Idle Song.” The "I" in the name stands for individuality.

During their 2024 Melon Music Award acceptance speech, I-dle announced the renewal of their contract with their debut company Cube Entertainment. In the speech, Soyeon revealed,

“Rumors about me alone ending my contract, about (G)I-DLE disbanding, came out so much. Not just me alone but all members renewed. Before going on stage, we talked. It’s all five of us. Next year, the year after, forever—all five. Good music will repay you. I will work harder.”
