Rod Stewart has always been a crowd favorite. During his recent Glastonbury set on June 29, the iconic singer came with some reinforcements. Stewart was slated to perform on the festival's Pyramid Stage for his Legends Slot performance, and surprised the audience with special guest star, Rolling Stones member and Faces bandmate, Ronnie Wood.

During the later stages of his set, Stewart brought out Ronnie Wood and Lulu as he announced,

"Now it brings me real great pleasure to bring on the stage two — what I call — legends, along with me.”

After performing the Faces' 1971 hit "Stay With Me”, Lulu joined the duo for a performance of "Hot Legs".

Rod Stewart - 80th birthday, new Faces album

In January of this year, Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood reunited to celebrate Stewart's 80th birthday. The former bandmates stepped out with their wives, Sally Wood and Penny Lancaster, for a night on the town they both also would go on to commemorate on Instagram.

Ronnie Wood, for his part, was certainly excited to be a part of the festivities,

“🥳😎🎂Really fun night celebrating Rod’s 80th!”

Rod Stewart’s tone was slightly more reflective, which made sense under the circumstances, as he was the one hitting the milestone age.

“What an incredible journey it’s been — from unforgettable moments on and off the stage to earning some truly special honors along the way. But above all, my greatest joy has always been performing for you. Cheers to the memories we’ve made and the ones still to come! #80YearsOfRod.”

Stewart has certainly continued to keep himself busy despite his age. In an April interview, Faces drummer Kenney Jones teased that a new album was on the way for the group in an interview with The Telegraph. It would be the English rock group's first album in 50 years. While Jones’ tone was hopeful, nothing concrete has been established to this point, nor confirmed by Stewart or any of the other bandmates of the Faces.

“I can’t see it coming out this year. But I can see it coming out next year. Everyone’s doing different things. We do little snippets [of recording] here and there. Then all of a sudden, The Stones are out [on tour] again, Rod’s out again…"

It’s great to see a legend like Rod Stewart healthy and active in his later years. The band, according to the interview, has recorded 11 tracks as of now.
