Sabrina Carpenter's song "Manchild" reached a new high point in her career when it arrived at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in mid-June 2025. After appearing on the Disney Channel, Carpenter went on to build a career as a singer.

Her biggest accomplishment is that she eventually reached the top of the official US singles chart. Sales, radio airplay, and streaming numbers are all used to determine the success of a song, and the Hot 100 list is still the norm.

Carpenter began her career as a young actress on the Disney Channel sitcom Girl Meets World before transitioning into a singer. The songs "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" from her 2024 album Short n' Sweet continued the pop-crossover tone she had on her prior albums, Evolution (2016) and Eyes Wide Open (2015). Short n' Sweet won two Grammys, one for best pop vocal album and the other for best pop solo performance.

Sabrina Carpenter's "Manchild" is her first Hot 100 #1 song

Carpenter's seventh studio album, "Man's Best Friend," will be out in August 2025. The first song on the album, "Manchild," was out before the album's release on June 5 via Island Records. Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen helped write and record the song together with Carpenter and Antonoff. It has a disco atmosphere, along with mixing pop with synthpop.

The song's melodies hide harsh couplets that make fun of an immature ex-partner's "stupid, slow, and useless" conduct. Some people have said that the album sounds like Carpenter's earlier work since it has a country flavor and a sarcastic tone. Others have said that her songwriting has evolved over the years.

"Manchild" went straight to the top of the Hot 100 list after its release, thanks to its huge sales, radio play, and on-demand streaming in the US (almost 3.3 million in one day). This is the first time Carpenter has had a song hit number one.

After she won a Grammy and became a TV celebrity, Carpenter put all of her effort into songwriting. This song hitting number 1 is a testimony to how deeply her music has touched the hearts of fans.

The UK and Ireland were the best markets for the song outside of the US. "Manchild" also reached the top 10 position in Australia and New Zealand.

Sabrina Carpenter's quick ascension to the top of the Billboard singles chart shows that she has gained much more popularity over the years. Carpenter's long-awaited album "Man's Best Friend" will release on August 29, 2025,
