Fans are on their toes as HITS Daily Double continues to tease new music from Taylor Swift this year.
In the new Hits list for August 8, under The Lipman Bros, the outlet published:
'With Morgan, Demon Hunters, Bieber, Chappell all smokin’ hot and Sabrina, Taylor, Drake coming, they’re set for a gangbusters close to a blockbuster year. Cue the Yankees singing “New York, New York.”'
Just last month, the outlet reported that Taylor Swift was allegedly working on her 12th studio album, due under Republic Records. The outlet stated:
"What's more, seismic rumblings of a new Taylor set keep the Republic team as aggressive as ever."
However, as of this writing, the publication has modified the article to edit out the claim. Nonetheless, fans are thrilled at the prospect of a new project, as seen in the numerous comments on X. Here's how one user reacted, for instance:
"shes giving us song of the fall!"
The comments didn't end there:
"sad girl fall is back," one user quipped.
"I speak for everyone when I say we will be streaming," another fan chimed in.
"can’t wait to listen to taylor’s new songs, it’s going to be amazing," someone else added.
"another era’s about to rewrite the calendar," a fourth user remarked.
See how the rest of social media is reacting:
"We will be streaming and supporting MOTHER," one fan exclaimed.
"She’s coming to make this year eventful," someone else quipped.
"i still don’t trust them but i’m excited," another chimed in.
"taylor dropping new music this year would be everything the hype is real and the wait almost over can’t wait to hear what she’s got," yet another remarked.
Scores online are visibly excited, though a few did doubt this idea.
Here's all of Taylor Swift's latest career moves explored:
Taylor Swift's last original album, The Tortured Poets Department, came out in April last year. Since then, Swifties, as her fans are known, have been devoid of any new music from her.
Her legion of devotees has already begun speculating about re-recordings and surprise new releases, with many taking the Hits Daily Double articles as a sign that she may have something up her sleeve. However, as of this writing, there is no official confirmation about the same.
In other news, fans may be thrilled to know that Taylor Swift will be directing her own movie soon. Although the project was touted in 2022, things have been radio silent for a while. However, Stereo Gum has reported that things are still in motion.
Swift has a few acting credits to her name, including Valentine’s Day, The Giver, Cats, and Amsterdam, and she has also directed a few of her own music videos, including the famous “short film” for her “All Too Well” re-recording.
Just this week, Jeff Sneider's InSneider newsletter revealed that Searchlight Pictures, which is helming the project, has scouted Alice Birch, a British playwright known for her work on Normal People, Succession, and Dead Ringers, to rewrite Taylor Swift's script.
Sneider claimed that the two are now “working closely," and that there is no sign suggesting that the studio has axed the project:
“Allowing more experienced writers to rewrite scripts is standard practice in Hollywood, so worry not, Swifties!”
As of this writing, further details about this project also remain scarce.
