EDM legend Steve Aoki and country music sensation Russell Dickerson teamed up to make a banger titled "Happen To Me." It is now available on all streaming platforms after its release on June 4, 2025. After weeks of teasing, the genre-bending anthem immediately struck a chord with fans on the internet.

"Happen To Me," a country-pop song, was transformed into an upbeat techno hit by Steve Aoki and Dickerson. Released on June 4, 2025, the song combines Steve Aoki's unique EDM style with upbeat country vocals to produce a genre-bending smash suitable for both road trips and dance floors.

Dickerson conveyed his enthusiasm by stating:

“I’ve been a Steve Aoki fan for so long, and I can’t believe we have a song together now. He’s always paved his own path, and I feel like I’ve done that as well—and now our paths collide on this ‘Happen To Me’ remix. So stoked for this one!”

Dickerson had teased the remix on Instagram prior to its release. In reference to Aoki's trademark concert trick and the remix's cover image, he posted a humorous behind-the-scenes video on June 3 that showed his wife, Kailey, smashing a cake on his face.

“This calls for cake! 🎂. Happen To Me @steveaoki remix out TOMORROW!!!”

Fans have gone crazy since its release. With many taking it to X, a user commented:

"We love a good RD smash"

While another praised the song and its beats, referring it to Vegas, the user added:

"Vegas party baby."

While a third one added:

"Can't wait to hear it live this fall on ur RussellMania Round 3 Tour & also can't wait to meet u for the 1st time too."

The track did receive fan praise and immediately reached number 1.

Steve Aoki and Dickerson's summer anthem "Happen To Me"

"Happen To Me" was Dickerson's fastest-rising hit even before the remix. It peaked at number one on SiriusXM's The Highway, made it into the Top 20 on country radio, and received over 90 million streams worldwide. The song is getting even more traction with the new Aoki twist, and it may potentially have crossover potential outside of the country charts.

Dickerson hinted at his next full-length album as he celebrated the track. He uploaded a censored video on June 3 that had blurred-out track titles and a release date concealed by a loud censor beep and a sticker that said "CENSORED" over his mouth.

Dickerson's second leg of his RussellMania Tour, which includes sold-out shows in Boston, Asbury Park, and New York City, started on 5 June 2025. The artist is preparing for a big summer with the success of the "Happen To Me (Steve Aoki Remix)" and an upcoming album.
