Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber's fans are battling it out on X.

The songstress dropped a new surprise single, Supernatural, today. However, Justin Bieber also shocked fans when he announced that a sequel to his SWAG album, SWAG II, drops at midnight tonight.

Fans have since begun speculating that there may be a correlation between the two surprise releases, with many speculating that the two are trying to overshadow each other's chart success. While this remains unclear, and there is no evidence to suggest the same, X is inundated with opinions anyway. Here's what one user penned, for instance:

"Is this a surprise release because of Justin Bieber?"

The comments didn't end there:

"she’s months late but we cheered this is one of her best somgs," someone pointed out.
"You know what, better late than never I guess? Right in time for October/Halloween too!" another exclaimed.
"justin bieber releasing so everybody wants to release too," one more claimed.
"Exactly what nobody needs or asked for," a fourth snarky user weighed in.

See how the rest of X is reacting:

"Supernatural slaps, period. Ari's back in her bag," one fan opined.
"She’s mother and will always have big fans. We the Grande matcha stand with her forever," another cheered on.
"is she trying to overshadow lady gaga?" someone else probed.
"She saw no one has released good song this year so she needs to do something," yet another fan quipped.

The developments in Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's music careers explored:

Ariana Grande made headlines just yesterday when she announced she would be hitting the road for her first tour in six years. The Wicked actress and Grammy-winning songstress last hit the road in 2019, in support of her albums "Sweetener" and "Thank U, Next."

For her forthcoming tour, which kicks off on June 6, 2026, in Oakland, California, she will traverse across several major cities before wrapping things up in London in August.

As for Justin Bieber, he shocked fans this week when he shared videos of bright pink Billboards with the words "SWAG II" plastered over them, indicating that his eighth studio album and the sequel to the one he dropped less than two months ago may be on the horizon.

Several outlets have since reported that the album drops tonight at midnight, though further details like how many tracks it will span remain unclear.
