SZA is teasing fans with a possible guest appearance on Lizzo's new mixtape.

The Luther songstress shared a clip of herself and Lizzo grooving to some unreleased music at the recording studio, with both of them twerking and throwing it back.

"Lil after dinner session," she captioned the clip. "Anything for my Lizzy."

In another video she shared, Lizzo can be seen spitting some bars, while the caption read:

"Who colder." She added, "New sh*t coming for ur f*cking necks I'm giggling."

In yet another clip from the recording studio, SZA herself can be seen vibing in the studio to an unknown track, which she captioned:

"Working on a guest star for bookie Lizzo's new mixtape [heart emoji]."

As of this writing, it remains unclear just what the two are working on, though it is likely to be part of Lizzo's album, Love in Real Life.

SZA and Lizzo's decade-long friendship explored

Just last month, SZA brought her friend and fellow musician out on stage for a guest appearance at the Los Angeles stop of her and Kendrick Lamar's Grand National Tour, where they delivered their vocals for Lizzo’s hit single, "Special,” from Special (2022).

They sported matching black outfits on the SoFi Stadium stage. For the unversed, the song initially debuted as a solo track, though SZA later remixed it in February 2023. She took to Instagram to commemorate the moment, captioning a video of their performance:

“BABYS FIRST STADIUM PERFORMANCE — I love u @sza u r THEE DIVA !”

As for Lizzo's newest and fifth album, she has been rolling out tracks all year, including the lead single, Love in Real Life. It was her first solo release since “Pink,” which debuted on the Barbie soundtrack.

In an interview with Uproxx that came out this month, SZA got candid about how she and Lizzo became friends, revealing that they've shared a bond for over a decade:

“Me and Lizzo, we’ve been friends since, like, 2013, but it was very organic and very random. One day we were on the same tour, and I was like, ‘We’re about to drive out to Lake Michigan, do you want to come?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, let’s go.’ And then we just got drunk and hung out, and we kept doing that, and then our lives and careers progressed, and we kept talking and hanging out. The other day, I went over to her house. My tummy was hurting because I ate too much, and she gave me a muumuu, and we just laid in the yard and did nothing, and I was like, ‘Yeah, this is what the f*ck friendship is about.'”

The About Damn Time singer also went on a Twitch stream earlier this year, where she teased fans with a preview of a band with SZA that almost happened. On Valentine’s Day, she revealed:

“We’ve just always been friends, and it’s a sacred space for me in this industry. We got this little period of time where we were just linking up in the studio, and eating pasta and drinking."

She added:

“This one particular night, mind you, we were gonna start a rock band, called Pussy Lasers. Oh my gosh, she’s not gonna get mad if I say this. We were going to start a rock band called Pussy Lasers with an incredible other artist who I don’t know if she even wants to be mentioned, so I’m not going to mention her.”

Reflecting on “F2F,” which she co-wrote with her friend before it was featured on the latter's 2022 album SOS, she said it wasn’t going to be part of the band’s project, though it was “jokingly” considered due to its ’90s grunge rock feel:

“I was like, ‘This shit is hard, though’, so I was in the studio and I was like, ‘Man, pull that Pussy Lasers shit up,’” she continued. “And let me tell you something: I sat and watched this girl freestyle the whole f*cking song, everything except for the chorus.”

She added of her friend:

“She writes the craziest, most insane sh*t that you’re thinking and feeling, but she just finds a way to say it, and she sings it so beautifully out the gate, out of her mouth the first time.”
