BLACKPINK's Jennie is once again in the spotlight with the release of her latest single, Like Jennie. The track which came out on March 7, 2025, via Odd Atelier and Columbia Records is a great success. As the fourth single from her debut studio album Ruby, the song has also received wide-scale praise and has broken into the charts big time both in South Korea and other countries.

Blending hip hop with baile funk and punk elements Like Jennie presents the artist’s bold artistic identity. Lyrically the song goes into the issues of self-confidence, independence, and the cultural stage that Jennie has taken in the music world.

Produced by a team of great producers including Diplo, Leclair, and Jorge Alfonso Sr., and co written by Jennie which she did along with Tayla Parx, Amanda Ibanez, Zico, and others, the track resonates with fans for its confidence and infectious beat.

Like Jennie's commercial success

Commercially Like Jennie did very well on the global stage. It entered the Billboard Global 200 at number five which saw it collect 68.4 million streams and 6,000 digital sales in the first week. On the Billboard Global Excl. US chart it debuted at number three with 61.5 million streams and 4,000 sales which also proved the artist's international appeal.

In South Korea the single hit at number three on the Circle Digital Chart which turned to a very positive reaction from domestic audiences. Also, it was a big hit across Asia which saw it take the number one spot in the likes of Hong Kong and Malaysia. The single is doing well in many other markets in that region which include Indonesia, Taiwan, and the Philippines. In the West the song made number 36 on the UK Singles Chart and number 83 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The song’s release also contributed to renewed interest in Ruby, which continues to make waves on the Billboard 200. After debuting at No. 7, the album rebounded to No. 81 in its sixth consecutive week, cementing Jennie’s growing influence as a solo artist. The album now stands as the second longest-charting project by a female K-pop soloist on the chart, just behind Rosé’s rosie.
