“There’s a time and place and AGE” — Internet reacts as MGK drops new single ‘clichè’

Machine Gun Kelly, or MGK, released a new track titled Cliché on May 23, where he asks an unnamed ex, “Tell me, would you stay with me?”

While it’s not clear which of his exes the singer is referring to, he most recently broke up with Megan Fox in December 2024, before welcoming their baby daughter together in March 2025.

In the track, MGK—whose real name is Colson Baker—sings:

"Baby, we could make this home. You should run away with me/Even if you're better off alone."

After news of his new release went viral on the internet, netizens reacted to Pop Crave’s repost of the song, saying:

What happened between MGK and Megan Fox?

Megan Fox and MGK were in an on-again, off-again relationship for years before getting engaged in 2022. However, the two broke it off in December 2024, before welcoming the birth of their daughter in March 2025.

Sources close to the couple told TMZ that at the time of their breakup, Fox and Kelly were on a Thanksgiving trip in Vail, Colorado, when Fox “found material on MGK’s phone that was upsetting, and it made her want him to leave the trip early.”

Another source told Us Weekly that Kelly left the trip early, and the two broke up in late November before making their separation public in December 2024.

"They were trying to make it work again after hte pregnancy, but they are both too hot-headed and fell back into their constant fighting. They can't get on the same page, and it's not easy for them being together."

The two initially began dating in 2020, before getting engaged in 2022. They have been very public with their relationship and have appeared together on multiple red carpets throughout.

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast in March 2024, Megan Fox addressed why she wants to keep her relationship status private, and mentioned that her relationship is “not for public consumption.”
