Skepta is ripping into Joyner Lucas' diss track Nobody Cares with his own scathing track, Round 2.
The UK rapper launched a rap battle between US and UK rappers, and American rapper Lucas volunteered himself, plunging the two into an exchange of seething words. In Skepta's new diss track, he talks of his massive stardom, comparing it to Lucas', before claiming he would go triple platinum in the US while Lucas tries to reach platinum.
The track also sees Skepta slam Joyner for allegedly losing a previous rap battle against Tory Lanez in two lines, and even touches on the nightlife in London, British jargon, and more.
Sample a few lines:
"This ain't even a UK-US ting, it's me and you, Joyner, you get me? / You fell for the bait, let me show you how to clash / Now you're the b*tch," he raps. "You said there weren't a debate, now everybody's in two minds / Man of my word, killed you with two lines / You took a week for the weakest diss, whoever givin' you info needs to resign / Ain't safe out here, this a f*ckin' clash."
The fued between Skepta and Joyner Lucas explored
Skepta kicked off the first round of his and Lucas' "Friendly Fire" on July 10, when he dropped a title of the same name. The diss track was produced by M1OnTheBeat, Gfelds, and Goxan, and it started off by slamming the American jokes about British accents.
It then took a sharp turn as the rapper began jibing at Lucas, referring to him with profanity and slamming his lyrical prowess with lines like:
“Why you rap like you studied at Harvard?” and “Talkin’ like you’re lyrical miracle, oh please, where I come from, that’s a default speed.”
In his original suggestion, Skepta proposed a rap battle between the likes of Dave vs. Lil Wayne, Chip vs. Kendrick Lamar, Ghetts vs. Eminem. Lucas signed up for the same himself when he posted on X:
“The moment I’ve been waiting for."
As reported by Revolt TV, however, Skepta initially dismissed the notion, saying that he would only give him “two bars” on a track that was to go against ASAP Rocky.
In his diss track, Joyner also took shots at his British counterpart with seething bars like:
"You should of hit up of your friends, lil' b*tch, go call up Dave and Central, b*tch / For me, you gon' need the Avengers, b*tch, go tell 'em that Joyner done sent you, b*tch ... Nobody cares about how you and Drizzy are close / Or how you invented UK Rap, but still ain't top ten on your Coast, n***a!!!"
He was referencing Drake's invitation to Skepta to join him on stage at the Wireless Fest stage. There, Drake had claimed that the London rappers are "the best in the world."
Joyner Lucas has since responded to both — Drake's claims and Skepta's newest diss track. On Sunday, he took to X to share a video of himself listening to the new music as he chuckled. He then turned it off when the British rapper said he hadn't released new music in a while.
"Alright, say less, my boy," Lucas said before concluding the clip.
