Vincent Mason is going viral for his latest performance at the Spotify House in Nashville.
The singer-songwriter has fans swooning over his latest live rendition of Hell Is a Dancefloor, with droves flocking to X to gush over him. Scores online are appreciating his stage presence, and in videos circulating online, every inch of the arena was seemingly packed.
Vincent Mason's lyrics are known for their somber and acoustic elements, most of which touch on love and heartbreak. His 2024 hit Hell Is a Dance Floor alone has amassed 98.1 million official on-demand U.S. streams up until April 10, Billboard has reported, in addition to being named pick of the year at the AIMP Nashville Awards.
“I’ve never recorded an outside song before, just because there was always one line that didn’t feel like me. There’s a lot more stuff I’ve written that I think we’ll send to radio, but this just turned out so good and I loved it from first listen,” Mason told the outlet. “It lands on the hook great and I loved the back half of the melody, when it goes into the [lyrics] ‘My heart hit rock bottom shelf, we didn’t last like a last call bell.’ When that melody went into that b-section, I was hooked on the song.”
Everything we know about Vincent Mason: His inspiration, when his passion for music began blooming, and more
Vincent Mason, who is signed to Interscope/UMG Nashville/Music Soup, made his first venture into the world of country with the track Wish You Well, which was written by Blake Pendergrass, Jessie Jo Dillon, Chris LaCorte, and Geoff Warburton.
Reflecting on where his passion for music began blooming, Vincent Mason told Billboard:
“I was always walking around the halls, singing. My teachers tried to sign me up for choir a few times, but I would just play football and basketball instead. My parents weren’t into country music, but I found it on my own. I started hearing it in middle school and high school because some of the kids were into it. I thought, ‘Oh, country songs are catchy and happy,’ and then I heard, on the rock side, John Mayer doing this heartbroken, deep singer-songwriter stuff.”
He is also known for having sung Painkiller, which was co-written with Jessie Jo Dillon, Luke Laird, and Chase McDaniel. The track tells the tale of a woman who comes into your life and she leaves a lasting impact.
“‘Painkiller' is one of my favorite songs I’ve put out so far,” Mason told Entertainment Focus. “I wrote this with one of my songwriting heroes, Luke Laird, and two of my favorite writers in town, Jessie Jo Dillon and Chase McDaniel. The record has a lot of different sides to it, and I’m excited to share this one first.”
Vincent Mason, Billboard’s Country Rookie of the Month for April, was enrolled at the University of Mississippi for a short while before he relocated to Nashville, though in his interview with Billboard, he credited his time there for sparking a love for music.
He has been on the road all this year to support his Hell Is A Dance Floor Tour. Due to overwhelming demand, a second leg was added to this tour. He is also expected to open for heavyweights like Riley Green, Luke Bryan, Jordan Davis, and Parker McCollum. As for his festival appearances, fans can expect to see the singer nationwide.
