New details are emerging about Macklemore's Seattle home robbery.

People Magazine has reported that two suspects invaded the home in an attempt to rob it, when they confronted the Grammy winner's nanny and bear-sprayed her as his three young children lay sleeping in their rooms.

According to the outlet, the Seattle Police Department received a call from a woman, the nanny, shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, June 7. She reported two men breaking into the home, which is located in Capitol Hill, and attacking her.

“She escaped, but three children were still inside the house,” the report said. “[The caller] also added that the house belonged to a high-profile individual…. and that she believed the crime may have been politically motivated for some reason.”

USA Today has reported that the two suspects darted towards the master bedroom, where they rummaged through Macklemore's possessions. They also "raided" a closet riddled with clothing, jewelry, and shoes.

The report, which is mostly redacted, features the last name Davis. The outlet has pointed out that Macklemore's wife is named Tricia Davis. Macklemore and his wife share three kids: daughters Sloane, 10, and Colette, 7, and son Hugo, 3½.

The Seattle Times has reported that the filing does not state if Macklemore, legally known as Benjamin Haggerty, was home when the ransacking took place. As for the nanny, she reportedly informed an officer that she had put the kids to sleep when she noticed the two men sneaking in via a patio door.

When one of them pepper-sprayed her, he immediately began helping her clean her eyes, “for some unexplainable reason,” and she said she observed him looking “fearful,” according to the report.

The other man asked her where the “jewels” were kept, and she redirected them to it. They stole jewelry, watches, and shoes before they shoved the nanny to the ground and seized her phone. The SPD noted in a separate incident report that thousands of dollars worth of items had been taken.

The woman said she bit one of the robbers and bolted out of the house and straight towards a neighbor's door, where she began rapping on their door to call for help. She placed the 911 call from there, the report states. Footage of the men fleeing from the house has been captured.

The Thrift Shop hitmaker, 41, is a vocal advocate of Palestine, as he regularly posts about his support in addition to speaking about it on stage during his concerts. In a recent post on Instagram, Macklemore said:

“Standing up against [a genocide] shouldn’t have to be brave.”

People Magazine has reported that upon arrival, officers found the nanny in a state of “obvious fear."

“[The nanny] began to scream, so they got her up and pinned her against a wall, the shorter one holding her mouth shut,” the report said. “At this point, [the nanny] tried to kick the shorter one in the groin, but was unable to, so she bit onto his hand hard, causing him to let go. [She] then fled through the bathroom and out of the house. [She] knocked on numerous residences before someone opened the door and allowed her inside to call the police.”

Police arrived at the scene of the crime, where they noticed “obvious signs of disarray,” and “safely extracted” the three children. It also said that several close relatives had arrived at the scene and taken custody of the children for the day.
