Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade surprised fans on Monday (July 7) with news that she's expecting her first child, revealing her pregnancy while still in the midst of her international Cancionera tour.

Sharing the update on social media, Lafourcade posted several photos proudly displaying her growing baby bump.

Alongside the images, she reflected on the unexpected turn her life has taken:

“Five months and still on tour, five months and still growing. There is a beautiful being inside my body, and I truly didn’t see this coming.”

She added:

“What a gift from life, all while I sing and sing and keep singing for you, my beautiful people. See you very soon in Spain. In the meantime, we’ll keep growing.”

The pregnancy comes during a busy moment in the artist’s career. A four-time Grammy and 18-time Latin Grammy winner, Lafourcade was recently named one of Billboard’s 50 Best Female Latin Pop Artists of All Time.

She is currently touring in support of Cancionera, the follow-up to her acclaimed 2022 album De Todas Las Flores, which earned multiple Grammy wins.

European tour dates will continue through August, with two major shows scheduled at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional on September 9 and 11.
