Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter tour has been an ongoing surprise for the fans. However, during her July 10 show in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, attendees noticed a change. Instead of the flying car, which the songstress mostly used to fly around, she used a golden flying horse.
As per reports, the reason behind getting the flying horse could be due to the recent incident when the car malfunctioned mid-air. Per Just Jared, she used the aerial vehicle to perform her 2024 song, 16 Carriages.
On June 28, while she was performing in Houston, the car tilted on one side and had to be immediately landed. Fans shouted:
“We love you, B.”
Beyonce then told the crowd:
“Thanks for your patience. If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.”
She also shared an Instagram post after the incident, writing:
“I love you, Houston.”
In the videos from that day, she could be seen saying “Stop” multiple times as she tried to appear unbothered during the mishap. Parkwood Entertainment, her team, also released a statement about the incident. Per the Daily Mail, they mentioned:
“Tonight in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyonce uses to circle the stadium and see her fans up close, to tilt. She was quickly lowered, and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.
After that incident, she didn’t perform 16 Carriages for a while, only to bring it back with the golden horse yesterday.
Beyonce on naming her album “Cowboy Carter”
In a 2024 interview with GQ, Beyonce was asked why she named her eighth album Cowboy Carter, instead of Cowgirl Carter. She said she wanted people to get enlightened about the word "cowboy."
She explained that history shows that many cowboys were Black, and even though they were treated unfairly, they played an important role in the cattle business. The songstress added:
“The cowboy is a symbol of strength and aspiration in America. The cowboy was named after slaves who handled the cows. The word cowboy comes from those who were called boys, never given the respect they deserved. No one would dare call a Black man handling cows “Mister” or “Sir.””
The interviewer asked Beyonce what it was like for her, a Black woman, to work in businesses where some people didn’t expect her to succeed. She said that men and women differed in terms of lived experiences.
According to her, people usually thought of men as the smart ones who handled the important parts of a business, like planning and leading a team. Women, especially famous ones, were often only seen as the “face” of a brand or used for marketing.
Beyonce said she wanted to change that way of thinking. She explained that she worked hard, did her research, and focused on strengthening her business. She believed it was better to do things the right way instead of rushing or taking easy shortcuts.
