Hilary Duff is ready to give fans the album they've been waiting for after almost a decade.

In her recent interview with Variety, the actress and pop fave revealed her long-teased return to music is coming very soon, now with a decade of life and love poured into every lyric.

“We’re getting something really soon. [My fans] are going to hear something so soon, like in the blink of an eye.”

The "What Dreams Are Made Of" hitmaker added that she had been working in the studio with her singer-songwriter husband, Matthew Koma, who also worked on her 2015 album Breathe In, Breathe Out.

“I always knew I was going to return to music. I needed to feel safe and I needed to have the right people in my corner and be absolutely 100 percent ready."

Hilary Duff continued:

"Honestly, I needed to have 10 years of life under my belt. I needed a lot to say. This album feels like the inner workings of my brain and I really am so excited to connect with people again on that level, that very forward-facing level.”

Back in September, Hilary Duff locked in a deal with Atlantic Records, which she announced on her Instagram with a cryptic caption:

"new music … or something"

The singer-actress added a disco ball, sparkle, and cherry emojis beside her text, while her photos show her in a casual fit while inside the studio.

Her new team-up with the label also resulted in a 400% increase in searches for her name on Spotify. Streams of her music on the platform also surged to 80%, while first-time listeners also saw an upsurge of 75%.

According to the data, her 2004 self-titled album and Dignity (2007) both grew by 130% on the streaming app.

Meanwhile, Hilary Duff is set to appear in a new documentary, to be helmed by Sam Wrench, who also directed Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl. She noted her excitement:

“All of the things are happening. I can’t give up too much information or everyone’s gonna kill me, but I am dancing and … everything’s in motion. It’s exciting.”

"To be continued": Hilary Duff teases Metamorphosis sequel

Hilary Duff has been teasing her music comeback for the last few months, such as a photo of herself in the studio in February this year. In August, she commemorated the 22nd anniversary of her second studio album, Metamorphosis, with a wheel of throwback snaps of herself from 2003 and beyond.

"Clearly I had to go digging around the internet for pictures from this time as I’m not sure camera phones even existed. Sadly all my hairstyles ARE very documented."

The A Cinderella Story star reflected on her younger self, noting that the time period when she released the album changed her, as well as made an impact on other people.

"As much as I look back and think this album doesn’t hold the emotional depth I look for today, I know my 14/15 year old self meant every word. It sure as hell also landed on people at the right moment in time and set me off on a pretty epic adventure."

Concluding her post, Hilary Duff left a cryptic line of butterfly emojis regarding her second studio album.

"Yesterday marked the 22nd anniversary of Metamorphosis… Although these are distant memories for me, thank you for showing up the way that you did. To be continued…"
