In his latest track Trunks, released on August 15, A$AP Rocky talks about men with muscles that “ain’t real.” Fans seemingly believe that the track is aimed at Drake. While A$AP Rocky has not taken any names in the track, he raps:
"BBL, think they build/ They strainin' when they trainin' in he gym ' They think they Wilt Chamberlain/ Can't name a bitch who p*ssy ain't killed / You lame a** sh**, we ain't forget / The muscles, they ain't real."
Lyrics continue to be:
"Cookie cutter n***as, soda pop, yeah, they Canada Dry."
Along with Trunks, A$AP Rocky also released Both Eyes Closed, both of which are from his Highest 2 Lowest soundtrack.
What has Drake said about fake muscles rumors?
Post Trunks release, netizens took to social media platforms suggesting that the “muscles” reference was supposedly aimed at Toronto native Drake. He was once speculated to have surgically enhanced his muscles.
In 2019, Drake posted a beachy, shirtless image with the caption, “I forget what it’s called but I remember the feeling.” Shortly after, DJ Carnage took to the comments section saying, “You got fake ab surgery in Colombia, you ain’t foolin anybody,” to which Drake responded:
"Is this cause you're angry about the one thing that happened with that one person the other day that you thought was your wifey."
Drake’s trainer also responded and added that he would train Carnage too if he asked: “holla at me I’ll get you right too.” The “Canada Dry” reference adds to suspicion, as another American rapper and actor, Common, used the term in his 2012 diss track aimed at Drake.
A$AP Rocky and Drake feud explained
A$AP Rocky and Drake were seemingly on good terms in the 2010s, with A$AP collaborating with Drake and Kendrick Lamar on F**kin’ Problems in 2012. Rocky also made an appearance on Drake’s 2013 track, Wu-Tang Forever.

In April 2024, he seemingly took shots at Drake with the track Show of Hands. The track is featured on Future and Metro Boomin’s second collaborative studio album, We Still Don’t Trust You. Rocky had been dating Rihanna since 2020, who also had an on-and-off relationship for nearly a decade with Drake.
In one of the verses, A$AP Rocky alludes that Drake still has feelings for Rihanna:
"Call up Pluto, Metro, should've put me on the first one / N***as swear they b**ch the baddest, I just bagged the worst one/ N***as in they feelings over women, what you hurt or somethin'? I smash before you birthed, son, Flako hit it first, son."
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky had publicly acknowledged their relationship in May 2021, after Rocky, in a GQ interview, referred to Rihanna as “the love of my life.”
