Travis Tritt is getting candid about why he tries to keep his kids away from the music industry.
Tritt, a Grammy-winning artist, and his wife, Theresa Nelson, tied the knot in 1977. Over the years, they have welcomed three kids: daughter Tyler Reese and sons Tristan and Tarian. Their father's singing prowess is seen in Tyler Reese and Tristan, both of whom sing professionally.
As recently pointed out by People Magazine, Tyler Reese told RFD TV back in June 2024 that when she began pursuing a career in music, her father wasn't completely on board. He tried to dissuade her at the time, stressing how difficult the journey could be for her.
“Finally was just like, ‘I hate to break it to you, but I ain’t giving this up,” she said at the time.
Tyler Reese first teamed up with her dad when she was 14, as they recorded a cover of Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough. In the year since, she dropped her first singles, Perfect, Texas Hold' Him, and Porch Light. She has also served as the opening act for Sheryl Crow, her dad, and Runaway June.
As for her brother, Tristan, 26, he is known for venturing into the world of rock music. He dropped his first EP, WHAT ARE WE DOING? in August last year, as he announced on Instagram at the time:
"I couldn’t be more thankful and excited to see over a year of hard work come to fruition. This entire project has been a huge labor of love and I cannot wait to continue down the wild and crazy world of music."
The youngest of the family, Tarian Tritt, keeps a low profile online. His Instagram account is private, and he seemingly does not have any other social media platforms. It also remains unclear if he has an affinity for music like his siblings and dad.
Travis Tritt and Jason Aldean's friendship explored as the two men celebrate decades of friendship:
Later this year, Travis Tritt will be making a grand appearance at The Great Frederick Fair, expected to be held on the Frederick fairgrounds from September 12th through September 20th, 2025.
The festival will see an array of rides, exhibits, food, and a lineup of music heavyweights. Travis Tritt will make an appearance on Friday, September 19, from 7:30 p.m.
The country crooner is most known for performing alongside Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson as a member of the Class of '89, and has made a name for himself for his Southern rock-influenced country style.
A few days ago, however, Travis Tritt revealed that he looks up to his fellow country singers for inspiration. Namely, Jason Aldean. The two men have been friends for decades, going all the way back to 2005, before Aldean’s eponymous album came out.
“Great guy,” Tristan Tritt told The Tennessean. “I’ve loved that guy from the very beginning. We just established a great relationship from the very first time I ever met him.”
He added,
“The first time I ever met Jason, he was telling me about the first time he won a talent contest. He sang my song, ‘I’m Gonna Be Somebody,’ I think. And it was like, first of all, it’s heartwarming to know that your music has gone out and affected other artists, other people that have come along. I think that was one of the things that sparked our relationship in the first place.”
Back in 2023, when Aldean sparked a controversy for his track, Try That In a Small Town, Travis Tritt stood by him. He took to social media at the time to point out that the track wasn't about "promoting violence," as some might say.
“It is simply expressing a point of view that many American people share which is against the obvious violence that we have seen from the likes of so many ‘activists groups’ in this country in recent years and the belief shared by millions that this behavior would not be tolerated by many people in many places across the USA. God bless America and all the people in it.”
The two were spotted alongside each other just recently, when Aldean was invited to take to the stage at the CMA Fest on Thursday, June 5. Fans were expecting a solo act, which is when he surprised everyone by bringing out his friend, Travis Tritt, as a special guest. The two Georgia-born singers delivered Tritt's 2000 hit track, It’s a Great Day to Be Alive.
“This next song’s not one of mine, but it’s by one of my musical heroes growing up in Georgia,” Aldean told the crowd at the time, according to American Songwriter.
Travis Tritt later took to Instagram to thank his friend for the invitation:
“Huge thanks to Jason Aldean for inviting me to join him onstage for a special ‘Great Day’ performance,” he wrote. “Truly grateful!”
