Young Thug has been accused of snitching on Yak Gotti by the latter's lawyer, after a leaked snippet of his collaboration with Lil Baby surfaced on social media. In the track, Young Thug appears to allegedly accuse Gotti of cooperating with the authorities during the recent YSL RICO trial,
"Yak Gotti tricked me for some years I ain't know he was telling / Only reason I fw'd with you Gunna, it was cause of Troup."
Yak Gotti's lawyer, Douglas Weinstein, while responding to the track's allegations on X, said,
"Yak did not make any incriminating statements about Jeff during his police interviews. I'm unsure about the source of this allegation. Yak had the opportunity to testify against Jeff during the trial for a reduced sentence, yet he chose not to. He remained steadfast and confronted the jury."
What did Yak Gotti's lawyer say about him?
Yak Gotti's lawyer, Douglas Weinstein, while defending him, wrote,
"I will always back him, no matter who pursues DK - be it the streets, law enforcement or the DA. Even if he may not desire it."
While commenting on Gunna, Weinstein said,
"I have never said anything bad about Gunna. In fact, I have defended him at every opportunity. State wants to turn the guys against each other. Dont fall for it. Don’t be a sucker."
In another tweet, the lawyer stated,
"The State wants nothing more than to turn Gunna, Jeff, and Yak on each other. These are all talented artists whom the State wants to drag down. Heaven forbid they rise above their station. Don’t let them do it."
More about Young Thug and Yak Gotti's relationship
In 2022, Young Thug, Gunna, Yak Gotti, and other YSL members faced RICO charges in Georgia, tying YSL records to alleged gang activity.
At the time, Gunna struck an Alford plea, which means he admitted that there was enough evidence for conviction but did not personally admit guilt. This led to his release. However, he was accused of "snitching" on the other accused members. In 2024, Young Thug accepted a plea deal too.
Yak Gotti, on the other end, in a June 2025 interview with The Danza Project, maintained that he isn't picking sides between Gunna and Thug. He called Gunna his "brother" and Thug his "big brother."
He also criticized artists that picked sides between the two and warned that the two would fall out ifthings didn't smooth over. Throughout the trial, Gotti was accused of cooperating with the feds, and accused of snitching, which he denied publicly.
