Following his appearance at the final Black Sabbath show, Yungblud has announced a new documentary titled YUNGBLUD. ARE YOU READY, BOY?. The film will come out in August and was shot at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin. It's a place where musicians such as David Bowie and U2 recorded their masterpieces.

The forthcoming documentary is said to be a two-hour movie (directed by Paul Dugdale, known for his work on music documentaries). It will be released in movie theaters all over the world on both August 20 and August 24, 2025.

Yungblud's statement on the upcoming documentary

In the forthcoming documentary, fans will get a new opportunity to peer into the young British artist’s creative process at the historic Hansa Studios. The announcement has drawn attention on social media, with the choice of Hansa Studios adding historical context to the film.

Yungblud (born Dominic Harrison) himself confirmed the news in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he was quoted as saying:

"I wanted to make a film that truly documents where we are right now, at this moment, around the release of my most ambitious album to date. Berlin has always radiated complete, unfiltered truth. Every time I’ve visited Hansa Studios, it’s just f***ing iconic. You can feel the history in Hansa; it’s in the silence between takes, the ceiling looming over you. You’re standing in the shadows of all these legends and asking yourself ‘who the f**k am I? And what am I gonna leave behind?"

Director Paul Dugdale has also given his take on the project and shed some light on the creative process involved, saying:

"When we made this film, it was in that special twilight zone between the record being finished and people hearing it for the first time. I always think of that moment before a release as such a unique time for an artist and it's an extraordinary period to document because we can enter into it without any external noise or pre-conception. It allowed us to make something unaffected by the outside world, and there's a really pleasing purity about that."

He then went on to add:

"We got to live in a moment with Dom, free of any external opinion and start a relationship from a totally blank canvas. The opportunity to capture Yungblud at such a turbulent but rewarding moment of change, was an absolute privilege. Dom gave himself completely to the filmmaking process and I feel so proud of what we achieved together"

Tickets for the Yungblud documentary will go on sale starting July 17, 2025 (on the artist’s website). 150 locations have reportedly been selected for the documentary’s release within the UK alone. Notably, the documentary’s release aligns with the upcoming IDOLS tour, wwhich is set to kick off on August 23, 2025.

The tour commemorates Yungblud’s recently released album Idols, which dropped last month.
