Rapper Young Thug’s fourth studio album, UY SCUTI, was supposed to be released on September 19, 2025. However, according to reports, it now appears that the date has been postponed to September 26, 2025. According to an exclusive report by the X account Whistlllr Media:

“YOUNG THUG WILL DROP HIS ALBUM NEXT WEEK SEPT 26 DUE TO MULTIPLE ARTISTS PULLING THEIR FEATURES.”

According to GQ, UY SCUTI is named after one of the biggest stars in the universe. He spoke to Zach Baron from the magazine about this album. He said that like the name, he felt like one of the biggest stars.

Thug said he felt he had played a big part in shaping the new rap scene. He shared that he realized this while he was in court during his trial. When asked about his lyrics being used against him, he explained that it felt both strange and surprising, as it showed how many people listened to him.

At the same time, he thought it was unfair since freedom of speech should protect what he rapped about. He mentioned that most of his songs were about fun or positive things, but a few street-related lyrics were the ones used against him. Looking back on his prison days, Young Thug said:

“Yeah, I think I'm too big for jail, but I think, like, I'm not too big for God.”

He added:

“I think it was, like, a God thing just showing me, like, you know, situations, real friends, and who you with, who with you, and how to move, how to be, because you are UY Scuti.”

Young Thug on his incarceration and new music work

Zach Baron asked what Young Thug felt about being jailed for two years. He said it was quite a real experience, and he did not want to do it again. Responding to a question, he said there were moments when he doubted if he would ever get out. Interestingly, for the interview, Young Thug wore a mask. When Baron asked the reason for wearing it, he said:

“Only scientists can see UY Scuti. I don't feel like people should see me. I mean a scientist could maybe reconstruct it, do something with the mask and get a clear picture. But I just feel like—hidden scars, and just hiding things.”

Speaking about the new record, he said:

“I just wanna make music where you can actually hear me. Cause I always talk sh*t, I always talk that sh*t, but, like, sometimes, you can't, like, hear it. Sometimes, you like, ‘Ah, what you saying?’ So it's like, now, I feel like I'm new artist I feel like I just came into the rap game again.”

Baron asked Young Thug if making his new record, UY Scuti, felt the same as before, and if it was easy or hard to get back into it. Thug replied that it came easily for him because he never lost his touch. Even while in jail, he kept writing music and sometimes listened to songs in court, so music always stayed with him.
