Drake White and his wife, Alex White, are in mourning after the tragic death of their newborn baby. On August 31, 2025, the couple announced on Instagram that Della Elizabeth White, their daughter, was delivered 29 weeks early. She was announced dead at 9:12 a.m., just 20 minutes after she was delivered at 8:52 a.m.

Their baby, Della was 3 pounds, 3.5 ounces, and 13.5 inches. Her demise has affected both Alex and Drake White as they bid goodbye to their "precious" as they stated that she "went peacefully to be with Jesus."

Alex took to Instagram to announce:

"On Sunday, August 31st our precious daughter, Della Elizabeth White, went peacefully to be with Jesus. We are so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her. The Lord has been so near and close to us during this difficult time. He has held us up and sustained us through it all."

She continued:

"We are heartbroken and soul tired, but we know we will get through this difficult time with the strength, peace, and joy that only our Heavenly Father can provide. May Della be held in the arms of Jesus until we see her again someday."

She added quoting Psalms 34:18 (“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit”) and Psalms 31:10, 14-15, showing how faith is acting as a guiding light for them during this tough time.

Fans and other musicians showered their affection after hearing the heartbreaking news and sent their condolences. Jessie James wrote:

“I am so sorry. I love you and I’m praying for you all. No one should ever go through this kind of pain. I know your sweet girl will always be in your heart and watching over you🤍.”

While Laurne Alaina added:

Alex and Drake White's journey to parenthood

Alex and Drake White are already parents to a 2-year-old son, William Hawk, and they revealed the problems they went through to become parents, as IVF was used this time for the second pregnancy, which they confirmed earlier this year. In May 2025, Alex told PEOPLE:

“We were able to conceive through IVF and had our frozen embryo transfer in March. We found out we were pregnant 10 days later and were due in November.”

The couple was excited about what was to follow. Alex told PEOPLE:

“Sharing the news with our family and friends has been one of the best parts of the whole pregnancy. We love seeing them as excited as we are to welcome a new baby into the world.”

Drake White added:

“We are going to use family names and name her after both of Alex’s grandmothers. We feel so blessed and thankful to grow our family through the miracle of IVF.”

The couple struggled with infertility for years before William's birth, which was made worse by health issues such as Drake White's on-stage stroke and Alex's diagnoses of type 1 diabetes and an autoimmune disease. Drake White said:

"We've been through so much. We've been through so much, from my having a stroke on stage to Alex being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and having an autoimmune disorder. And then this was just something else that tested our faith and tested our strength."
