Rwandan gospel singer Gogo Gloriose has passed away in Kampala, Uganda, at the age of 36. As reported by her manager, Gogo, whose real name was Gloriose Musabyimanna, died on the morning of September 4.
Her manager revealed in a TikTok live,
"She used to have seizure attacks, and we decided to keep it away from the public. I believe she died because of epilepsy attacks. Monday, she had two seizure attacks before she died. We were used to the attacks, and when they occurred, we were not scared and knew she would be okay when we took her to the hospital. Unfortunately, she died in the hospital," he said.
Who is Gogo Gloriose?
Gogo Gloriose was a 36-year-old gospel singer who went viral earlier this year for her song “Everyday, I Need Blood of Jesus” on social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
She was known to have a very humorous personality, which led to her being turned into memes and, in turn, helped people discover her work, including her Christmas-inspired song “Uwo Mwana.” Her music journey started with her local church choir, Umucyo, at an Anglican church, where she wrote three songs.
Due to financial constraints, she couldn’t release music until this year.
“I'm going to produce more songs now that I’ve received additional support. This means a lot to me. My advisor has been incredibly helpful, and we’ll continue working together,” Gogo Gloriose said.
She further expressed her comfort with her medical conditions, saying,
“I have no issues with my appearance, and it has no impact on my life. You can’t stop people from talking, but this is how God planned it, and I’m grateful for everything. I live a normal life like anyone else, “she explained.
According to Royal FM Kigali, she was rushed to the Kyengera Doctors Hospital, where she passed away.
"She died after battling an illness. A medical report from Kyegera Doctors Centre confirmed Gogo's death."
She had travelled to Kampala to meet her friend Bruno K, with whom she was working on advertising jobs. Bruno, who was there with the singer, stated her last words to be "Goodbye" and later shared the last video he recorded with her.
