Who is Maleigh Zan? All about the rising artist as her new song 'CUNTY' recorded over Justin Timberlake's 'SexyBack' goes viral

Maleigh Zan is a multi-talented rising artist from Savannah, Georgia. She is gaining attention for her fusion of house, dance, and ballroom-inspired music.

Zan relocated to Atlanta at a young age, where she was immersed in the city’s underground music and fashion scenes. Zan’s new single CUNTY samples Justin Timberlake’s 2006 track SexyBack.

In her new track, Maleigh can be seen wearing a golden, shimmery, jeweled bikini top, while two dancers surround her and dance as she sings:

"I am bringing cunty back, these basic b*tches don't know how to act. I hypnotize them when I throw it back. I keep it classy cause it's just an act."

The lyrics are similar to Timberlake’s SexyBack, where he is walking around wearing a suit and singing:

"I am bringing SexyBack, them other boys don't know how to act. I think it's special, what's behind your back. So turn around and I'll pick up the slack."

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Maleigh Zan moved to Atlanta to hone her musical talents. Her debut single GAG drew inspiration from Atlanta’s underground ballroom culture and garnered industry attention, specifically from producer Timbaland. Timbaland later went on to collaborate with the artist on a remix.

In 2024, Zan was featured in the Dazed 100 US list of rising cultural figures. In the feature piece, she credited her uncle, DJ NSA, as an early musical influence. In other interviews, Zan has noted that with her career, she wants to create space for Black women in house and dance music genres. She also aims to maintain a strong hold over fashion.
