Iranian Singer Omid Jahan passes away at 43. Hale Dan Dan singer, suffered a lethal heart attack at the Bam Date Festival and lost his life.
At the Bam Date Festival on Friday, September 12, Jahan was performing when he suddenly collapsed on stage. He was then rushed to Bam Pasteur Hospital by the emergency team.
According to reports, the medical team had resuscitated the singer after he was brought to the hospital and was transferred to the ICU after two cardiac resuscitation operations. However, on Saturday (September 13) afternoon, he passed away.
Who is Omid Jahan?
Omid Jahan was born to musician Mahmoud Jahan in 1982 in Abadan, Iran. As he grew up, he decided to follow in his father's footsteps into music. His father passed away early in 2017.
At the age of 34, he released his first album, Vaysa Tond Naro, which featured the local Iranian lyrical style mixed with a Southern blend. However, technically, Omid had unofficially released his debut album in 1998, titled 'Pesar Jonubi,' and 'Pappti' in 2000. He finally got his chops when his song, Hale Dan Dan, became one of the most popular hits and helped establish his now-famous musical style.
Loyal to the arts, he also dabbled in acting with roles in the 2021 movie, Daghet Nabinoom, Veyli Veyli in 2020, and Hasrat in 2020. He also had many major collaborations, including one with Mohsen Chavoshi, and performed at huge venues, such as the Milad Tower in Tehran.
