Rock band Amyl & The Sniffers' 2025 Glastonbury performance has gone viral for their speech about Palestine, J.K. Rowling, and AI during their set. The Melbourne-based band performed at Worthy Farm's second stage on the afternoon of June 28, with frontwoman Amy Taylor speaking up right after performing Chewing Gum.

She said,

"I want to take the time to say something political. It's such a f**king crazy time to be alive right now, it's so f**king weird. The left and the right politicians don't believe in anything at all between the two of them, they believe in nothing."

She slammed the UK and the Australian governments for their stance on Israel vs. Palestine, saying,

"I'm thinking about the people in Palestine. We're from Australia, we ain't doing jack s**t, I know yours aren't doing jack s**t. I think about schooling and I think about media, and I think we don't learn nothing about colonization or sexual education, we don't learn any of the right things."

"We're the fu**ing colonizers," say Amyl & The Sniffers

While ranting about the current political situation and the UK and Australian governments' stance on Israel and Palestine, Amyl & The Sniffers frontwoman, Amy Taylor, took accountability for her race and pointed out the issues in colonialism.

They want us to shut the f**k up, because if we think about Palestine, then back home in Australia, we think about the indigenous people there. And we think about the fact that us as whiteys, we're the fu**ing colonizers, and that's disgusting."

The singer highlighted the importance of speaking out and standing up to the crowd,

"That's the truth and I thought I'd share that today. It was gonna be something way more poetic, but that's just what I said and it's not perfect, but I think it's better to say anything than to say nothing at all right now."

Amy also targeted the use of AI and added,

"S**t's going down the sh**ter fast, and mate, we've got AI on the way and that's gonna be even crazier, so buckle up b**ches, s**t's about to get weird."

Later in the Amyl & the Sniffers' set, Amy Taylor, just before starting on Knifey, also gave a shoutout to raise awareness on LGBTQ+ rights by saying, "To all the ladies, all the T-girls, and my non-binary and trans friends, F**k J.K. Rowling."

Amyl & The Sniffers are not the only ones to use the Glastonbury 2025 stage to speak up. Bob Vylan, during his performance, said, "Death to the IDF," referring to the Israel Defense Forces, and Irish band Kneecap said, "F**k Keir Starmer."

The performance follows another major milestone for the band, as they were recently announced as the official support act for AC/DC's upcoming Australian stadium tour.
