On June 25, Cardi B took to X to explain why she included hit tracks, WAP and UP, in her upcoming album, Am I the Drama, despite public backlash. Her album is scheduled to release on September 19.
In the tweet, Cardi said,
"This will be the last and only time I’m gonna address this.. WAP and Up are two of my biggest songs, my fans have been asking me to put them on an album, and people search for them on IOP all the time… they deserve a home.."
She went on to add,
"I let haters make me not submit WAP for the Grammy’s and at this point I’m giving my fans what they want! These two songs don’t even count for first week sales so what are yall even crying about??? Do ya say anything when all these artist pull out all their little tricks and ponies to sell out??? Exactly….Now let them eat cake. Go cry about it!!!"
Cardi B's WAP is her first collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, making history as the first female rap song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remaining at the top for four weeks.
Her song went up, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week, and earned the artist a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance at the 2022 Grammys.

Popular rapper Cardi B on June 24 announced her upcoming album, titled 'Am I the Drama,' noting the release date as September 19.
Her second album comes seven years after her debut, Invasion of Privacy. On June 23, Cardi B also shared a conceptual teaser video of herself surrounded by crows as she delivered a monologue, saying,
"Seven years and the time has come. Seven years of love, life, and loss. Seven years I gave them grace, but now, I give them hell. I learned power is not given. It's taken. I'm shedding feathers and no more tears. I'm not back, I'm beyond. I'm not your villain. I'm your tyrant. The time is here - the time is now."
Her debut and last album, *Invasion of Privacy*, which was released in 2018, featured hit singles including Bodak Yellow, Bartier Cardi, I Like It, and Be Careful, along with collaborations with SZA, Migos, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, Kehlani, Chance the Rapper, and more.
