Drake canceled his concert in Manchester, and here is why.
Canadian rapper Drake is under fire with his fans for canceling his upcoming concert in Manchester, United Kingdom. The performance that was supposed to take place this coming Monday, at the Co-op Live arena, is not completely cancelled, as the new rescheduled date is August 5.
According to a statement on the arena's website, the reason behind the cancellation seems to be "travel logistics."
The statement read, "Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled."
It further added, "The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night."
The rapper had a concert in Manchester on Saturday; however, a show was still scheduled in Sweden on 28th July, possibly making it difficult to transport his crew and the equipment back and forth.
Fans react to the cancellation by Drake
The cancellation and postponement have led to a range of emotions from his fans, who are mostly enraged over the inconvenience. They aired out their grievances on X, formerly Twitter.
One user commented, "Extended my unpaid leave in Dubai to stay in Manchester so I could see Drake on 28th July just for him to cancel last minute and say he’s got travel problems my brother you are in the city wtfym!"
Another expressed, "Every single year i’m in his top 0.01% and now I can’t even see him, i don’t get how an individual can not give a shit about his fans at all like that and furthermore not post anything on his story it’s the same thing as breaking up by text."
One fan was completely enraged, "F*ck @Drake never listen to that c*nt again cancelling a show the day before due to logistics when he’s been in Manchester the last two nights c*nt"
While another couldn't understand, "How is Drake using “logistics” as an excuse to reschedule tomorrow nights show in Manchester when he’s already here?"
The UK and Europe tour is a co-headline tour with PARTYNEXTDOOR, as they recently released a joint album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, and it's the "God's Plan" singer's first time returning to the continent in six years, following his 2019 ‘Assassination Vacation Tour.’
The duo will be performing across cities in Europe, including Munich, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and more, with the European leg wrapping up on September 23 in Hamburg, Germany, at Barclays Arena.
