Fifth Harmony went on a hiatus to pursue solo careers.

On August 31, popular 2010s girl group reunited after seven years at Jonas Brother's concert. The band's four members including Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui made a surprise entry in matching black outfits to perform their hit track Worth It at Jonas Brothers' Dallas concert.

In March, 2018, girl group Fifth Harmony in a joint Twitter statement announced their hiatus after being together and making music for six years.

"After six years going hard, non-stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors."

At the time, Normani while speaking with Entertainment Tonight at Daily Front Row's 4th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards opened up about the split and said:

"(It was) very scary. And heartbreaking for me personally. The first day that we even put out the announcement for the hiatus, it was the toughest day."

The news came two years after Camila Cabello left the group in December, 2016.

More about Fifth Harmony's hiatus and Camilla Cabello's split

On December 19, 2016, Fifth Harmony in a twitter post announced that Camila Cabello has left the group and that the band will continue as a group of four members. However, in a Twitter note, Camilla addressed her exit and said that she was "shocked" by the band's statement:

"I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing. The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was ‘leaving the group’ is simply not true.""

Camilla had always been clear about pursuing a solo career which reportedly caused a rift between her and the other members. As per a Billboard article, multiple interventions to sort issues between the group were made. A therapist was brought out on the road "to help the girls sort out their issues."

Another source mentioned at that time that therapy sessions with the group would:

"historically devolve into a four-against-one scenario, much like the dynamic in the current public battle of statements we are seeing, and were largely unproductive."

Even Simon Cowell, who brought the band together got involved and advised the members to look at the bigger picture of profits made through music.

As Camilla exited the group in 2016, the rest continued as a band and in less than two years, they went on a hiatus.
