GloRilla and T-Pain can add yet another accolade to their growing list: being the top honorees at this year's R&B/Hip-Hop Awards.

BMI recently announced that the artist-songwriter-producer, who is also a Grammy winner, and the songstress, who is Grammy-nominated in her own right, will be honored with the BMI President’s Award and BMI Impact Award, respectively, Billboard has reported.

Catherine Brewton, Vice President, Creative, Atlanta, told the outlet about the decision:

“T-Pain’s creative vision and unwavering commitment to pushing musical boundaries continue to resonate with multiple generations of fans around the world. We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate his contributions to the industry by honoring him with the BMI President’s Award."

As for what she had to say about GloRilla, born Gloria Hallelujah Woods,

"This year’s Impact Award recipient GloRilla’s bold voice and fearless creativity is currently shaping and inspiring the future of hip-hop, making her the perfect choice for this honor. It’s going to be an incredible night highlighting the exceptional artistry of all BMI’s award-winning songwriters, producers and publishers, who are the creative visionaries of the music industry.”

T-Pain and GloRilla's accolades and careers in music explored:

On its official website, BMI has reported that this year's ceremony will take place privately on Thursday, August 28th, in Los Angeles, CA. BMI president/CEO Mike O’Neill, executive vp/chief creative & revenue officer Mike Steinberg, and Brewton will double as hosts for the night.

The BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards announcement also revealed that the company will honor the top R&B/Hip-Hop songs, songwriters, producers, and publishers from 2024, as well as the 35 most-performed R&B/Hip-Hop songs from its own catalogue.

WSB-TV 2 has reported that T-Pain is most known for his pioneering use of auto-tune. His decades-long career has seen him sell over 50 million singles and rake in billions of streams. He also has 10 dominating Billboard Hot 100 hits to his name, alongside two Grammy Awards and 28 BMI Awards.

According to Variety, the crooner is now carving his own path as a Twitch streamer and also serves as the head of Nappy Boy Entertainment, Nappy Boy Automotive, Nappy Boy Gaming, and Nappy Boy Dranks, all of which he founded. He is also the chief strategy officer for the Global Gaming League.

As for GloRilla, the budding songstress made headlines with her breakout single “FNF (Let’s Go)” in 2022 and has since been signed to Yo Gotti’s CMG record label. Her debut album, GLORIOUS, was met with critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance. She boasts two BMI Awards as well.
