Sir Rod Stewart is currently on his farewell tour, but that does not definitively signal the end of his career as a touring musician. In fact, it seems as though retirement has limited appeal to the songwriter who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of his craft.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the rock icon shared,
“I still enjoy what I'm doing. I love it. You can tell it's written all over my face. Absolutely love it, but all things have to come to an end.”
He went on to share his contentment with how his career wound up taking shape over the several decades leading to this point in time.
"I'm very happy with my achievements thus far. There's no bucket list. I’ve done it all."
While this might lead some to believe Stewart is ready to call it quits the singer has mentioned that he has new music on the way, which is great news for fans of his work.

Rod Stewart’s upcoming projects, more
Despite the rigours of his farewell tour, Rod Stewart is also currently in the process of working on new material. In his conversation with PEOPLE, Stewart also decided to elaborate on his current slate of work,
“I'm supposed to be doing a country album, and I'm halfway through doing an original album."
As Stewart nears the end of his music career, he pointed out that he would be taking measures to keep his health intact. Despite being the founder of Wolfie's Whiskey, the crooner revealed that limiting his alcohol intake has helped immensely with his ability to perform at a high level.
"I find it easier to keep my voice in good shape, and it was excellent tonight. It's been excellent for the last year or so, since I've cut back on the drinking.”
To complement his decision of cutting back on spirits, Rod Stewart has also curated a healthier lifestyle for himself through his hobbies. According to the singer,
“I have hobbies. I work out. I have my sport. I love watching football and sports, and the [Celtic Football Club]. My hobby is extraordinarily kind to me. All men should have a hobby.”
Rod Stewart also credited his youthfulness to his adoring wife Penny, and their 8 children who certainly have kept him young through it all.
