In the wake of Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, British rocker Yungblud paid a deeply personal tribute to the metal icon, reflecting on their final meeting and the enduring influence the former Black Sabbath member left on his life and music.

Yungblud wrote on Instagram:

“I didn’t think you would leave so soon. The last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room.”

The emotional message underscores the bond the two artists shared, a connection that transcended genre and generation.

Though best known for blending punk energy and alternative pop, Yungblud has often cited Ozzy Osbourne’s fearless musicality as a blueprint for staying unapologetically true to oneself.

“But as it is written with legends, they seem to know things that we don’t. I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage.”

Ozzy Osbourne, often dubbed the “Prince of Darkness,” became a guiding light for countless artists who saw liberation in his music. For Yungblud, it was personal more than musical admiration. He shared that the cross the "Crazy Train" singer gave him remains his “most precious” possession.

“You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me. And as I said then and as I will say now for all of us—the music was enough. You took us on your adventure—an adventure that started it all.”

He closed his tribute with simple, devastating clarity:

“I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.”

Osbourne, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath and a towering figure in rock history, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, just weeks after performing his farewell concert. He was 76.

Yungblud’s rock godfather: Diamond tribute and world tour salute to Ozzy Osbourne

Yungblud’s connection to Osbourne runs deep. The two shared a private conversation before Back to the Beginning, Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert in Birmingham, where the "Abyss" hitmaker gifted the metal legend a sterling silver gold cross embedded with diamonds, engraved with a good-luck message.

Later on, he performed a moving cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” earning praise from both fans and peers.

Meanwhile, the respect is mutual. The rock icon and his wife Sharon Osbourne appeared in Yungblud’s 2022 music video for “The Funeral,” a collaboration that solidified their bond.

Following his standout “Changes” performance, the English artist launched a world tour in support of his latest album, Idols. It kicked off in Romania, a fitting start in a country known for its heavy metal fandom.

The tour extends across multiple regions such as North America, Japan, and Europe. In 2026, a second leg will follow across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
