Marilyn Manson is paying his respects to the late heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne.

Days after the pioneering musician died on July 22 at the age of 76, Manson, a controversial musician in his own right, attended the former's funeral in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, on July 30. His wife, photographer Lindsay Usich, was also by his side, alongside Ozzy Osbourne's lead guitarist Zakk Wylde as well as the frontman of Slipknot, Rob Zombie.

Marilyn Manson's presence comes on the heels of his virtual cameo at what was Ozzy Osbourne's farewell performance at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, on July 5. The Daily Mail has reported that Manson sported a long black jacket at the funeral, hours before he later took to X to pen a tribute:

"Today we laid to rest a beloved friend. I am eternally grateful that you let me into your life Ozzy. Your inspiration and love will always be with me. Thank you Sharon and family for a reverent, beautiful ceremony. Your legacy lives on," Manson wrote.

Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, echoed his love for the late legend during Black Sabbath's final performance as well, as he said in a video at the time:

"It is a great honor to be here via this video," adding, "and I'd like to say congratulations, and I love you very much, Ozzy."

In his personal life, the Deep Six singer has been dealing with a litany of sexual assault and rape allegations, some of which came from his former fiancée, Evan Rachel Wood, as well as the actress Esmé Bianco. As reported by The Mirror, back in January, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said that they looked into the claims and decided against charging the singer.

At the time, Hochman issued a statement noting that the 2021 allegations "fall outside of the statute of limitations."

"We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt," the district attorney had said at the time. "We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation."

He continued,

"While we are unable to bring charges in this matter, we recognize that the strong advocacy of the women involved has helped bring greater awareness to the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault."

Marilyn Manson has long maintained his innocence, and his lawyer reportedly said they were "pleased" with the decision at the time.

As for the procession held in honor of Ozzy Osbourne, it saw his legion of fans flock to the streets, where his widow, Sharon Osbourne, and their three kids, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and his son from a previous marriage, Louis, mourned him. Sharon was visibly emotional as her kids flanked her, and they made a stop at the legendary Black Sabbath Bridge Bench.

A friend told The Sun of the funeral:

“Everyone at the service just wanted to support Sharon and the kids, it has been an awful time. Toasts were raised, memories were shared - it was a very fitting goodbye. Ozzy wanted his final place of rest to be at home and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake. As well as the ‘Ozzy f***ing Osbourne’ wreath, which made people smile, there was another floral tribute which spelt out ‘Ozzy’ that was placed by the fountain on the lake. There was a stage where people including Yungblud, who grew very close to Ozzy in recent years, were set to pay tribute to him."

The source went on,

“The day was incredibly emotional. Pictures of Ozzy were dotted throughout the house and a photograph of him was given to everyone who attended to take home with them.”

The family issued a statement in the wake of Ozzy Osbourne's demise that read:

"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time” and signed by “Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."

As reported by The Daily Mail, back in 2011, Ozzy Osbourne opened up about what kind of send-off he would have liked:

'I honestly don't care what they play at my funeral - they can put on a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle and 'We Are The Diddymen' if it makes 'em happy. But I do want to make sure it's a celebration, not a mope-fest.'
