Zara Larsson is coming back to be the pop IT girl once again with her upcoming album and the singles she has dropped so far. The singer also teased her new single, Hot and Sexy, with a video of her listening and lip-syncing to the song in a bathroom.

Fans were quick to notice that the Lush Life singer made quite an interesting sampling choice in the upbeat, fun new single. The song seems to have sampled reality TV star Tiffany Pollard’s iconic moment from season 17 of Celebrity Big Brother, where she was speaking about Gemma Collins in a confessional.
Tiffany says, "Somebody lied to her several times and told her that she was fly, hot and sexy and beautiful and she's nothing like that She's nothing of the sort.”
Zara seems to have taken the "fly, hot and sexy and beautiful" part of the line and used it in the chorus of the EDM-heavy song, adding an uplifting and complementary vibe to the song.
Fans react to Zara Larsson's new music
Fans, as excited as they are about her new music, had mixed reactions when it came to the song. While some expressed excitement over Larsson dropping new music and mixing pop culture and party music, others were left confused on what the point was of using this audio, especially in a complimentary way.
One fan said,
"That’s such a wild and creative sample choice, Zara really knows how to keep things fresh and fun"
Another was left confused,
"It’s the CONTEXT that is frying me bc why would you make a song like this when the sample you used means the exact opposite of its message?"
While one wasn't quite impressed,
"zara larsson sampling tiffany pollard's rant? more like sampling her 15 minutes of fame let's be realistic here, tiffany pollard's claim to fame is being extra, not exactly the most iconic thing to sample do people actually think this song's gonna be fire or is it just a desperate attempt to go viral?"
One fan seemed quite excited,
"She really said let’s merge pop bangers with reality TV legend energy"
Another followed the sentiment,
"Clever use of pop culture; could be a fresh twist that makes the track stand out."
Zara Larsson has been all over the internet these days, as the singer is currently on tour with Tate McRae across North America, making a grand comeback. Following this, the singer announced her own tour, the Midnight Sun tour, which will kick off on October 26, across Europe before joining OneRepublic on their Australia and New Zealand tour in February 2026.
Her album Midnight Sun will be released one month before her tour, on September 26, and features singles like the title track, Midnight Sun, Crush, and Pretty Ugly for now, as we await the rest of the track list.
