Zayn Malik is out of the shadows and is finally coming back into the spotlight, and a major teaser that the former One Direction member has dropped is that he might be releasing a new album.

The Pakistani British artist revealed that the new album will essentially be a continuation of his solo debut album, ‘Mind of Mine,’ which came out in 2016 and featured tracks like Pillow Talk, She, Fool for You, Wrong for You featuring Kehlani, and more.

According to Zayn, the album would also have Indian influence, touching upon the singer's South Asian heritage. However, not much else is known about the project.

The singer announced his comeback with a new project, as he created the song "Break Free" for Borderlands 4, part of the first-person video game franchise. The game introduces players to the all-new planet, Kairos, along with four new vault hunters. The characters fight through obstacles to retrieve a secret treasure. The British singer-songwriter teamed up with 2K and Gear to release this original song.

As for the collaboration, Zayn Malik revealed in a Variety magazine interview,

"When I'm not working or with my daughter, my usual place is is in front of the console, gaming with my friends back home in the UK." Further adding, "'I've played 'Borderlands' before, so when I was asked to collaborate on the music, it was a no brainer."

The song will be released on 19th September.
