The much-anticipated Back to the Beginning mega concert has concluded, and fans are eager for Sharon Osbourne’s big reveal about which band she disinvited to the event. Back to the Beginning was held on July 5, 2025, at the Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham, close to where the band was originally formed in 1968.

Sharon Osbourne announced the event on February 5, 2025, as a farewell concert for Black Sabbath and her husband, the band's lead singer, Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019 and has since lost his ability to walk due to the severity of his illness.

In an interview with Billboard, Sharon Osbourne revealed that a surprise band was removed from the event because the members just wanted to “make a profit”. Although the 72-year-old online personality didn't name the band then, she said she would reveal it after the concert.

Sharon stated:

“It's not the time to make a profit. After the show, I'll let everybody know who it was. I think people will be shocked.”

She told Metal Hammer in June 2025:

“I had a huge, huge to-do with a manager over this celebration for Ozzy and Sabbath. And I don’t care what this person says about me, thinks about it, because he doesn't know me. And he's now going around making up b------- lies because I threw his band off the bill”

The concert is over, and people are waiting for Sharon’s big reveal.

Sharon Osbourne planned the Back to the Beginning farewell/charity concert: details explored

Sharon Osbourne revealed to Billboard that she came up with the idea of the concert after Ozzy confessed that he regretted not having the chance to thank his fans during his last concert.

“It was my idea because [Ozzy’s] one regret was he didn’t get the chance to say thank you to his fans before he finished his world tour. We were in the middle of his [2018 No More Tours 2] world tour, his retirement tour; we’d only done about nine months of the tour, and he got sick.”

Back to the Beginning saw performances from Mastodon, Rival Sons, Anthrax, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Jack Black, Alice in Chains, Gojira, Drum Off, Pantera, Tool, Slayer, Fred Durst, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, and Black Sabbath.
