In an interview with GQ magazine, published on June 4, 2025, Terrence LeVarr Thornton, aka Pusha T, opened up about sending an email to Kanye West and advising him to build his streetwear empire.

The When The Last Time hitmaker recalled how he persuaded West to establish his fashion label instead of pursuing a position at the French luxury house, Louis Vuitton. Pusha T cited successful black designers like Virgil Abloh and Don C as inspiration to convince the multitalented artist to venture into the fashion world.

Pusha T's statement to GQ reads:

“I was like, 'Yo, what all [your boys] are doing, you need to just round that up, because everybody dressing like all of y’all anyway, and put that under your s**t. And I only did that because I was so embarrassed at him begging to be down with LV so bad, to be honest."

Pusha T stated that he reminded Kanye about the email he had sent, in which he offered advice regarding owning a streetwear business.

"I said, 'Go back to that email. Bro, I told you. I told you a long time ago that you should've been the head of the collective, and that's what it should be."

Pusha T talks about future music projects

During the Q&A session with GQ, the Grindin crooner was asked if he still had plans to release more solos. In response, Pusha announced:

"Yeah, there's plenty of music, man. Plenty of music loaded up, ready," Pusha told GQ.

Pusha was also asked why he rarely collaborated with other music producers except Pharrell Williams. Replying to the question, Pusha explained that he chose to stick to one style of music and wasn’t looking to rebrand himself:

"Right. And I think this formula and what I do, I think that has built the brand that people can trust. When you chase different styles... People don't know what to expect from you, or you may look like you're searching for something. You know what I'm saying? I feel like what's worked thus far has just been people always knowing what they're going to get and just getting a higher level of it each time."

The American rapper mentioned Def Jam's Cardo and Grammy-award-winning producer Dahi as some artists he would enjoy working with.

Pusha and his fellow Clipse member Malice are set to drop their fourth album, Let God Sort EM Out, on Friday, July 11, 2025.
